A more digestible version of Fez or Marrakesh and hardly any other tourists. We didn't get harassed too much by shopkeepers and restaurant owners, they always took 'no thanks' for an answer and wished us a nice day. Carpet stores are a bit of a trap, even if you're interested in such things we usually couldn't be bothered asking for the cost for fear of being roped into the store for a long time. We were ripped off by our guide who charged us double the quoted rate from our hotel. We assume it's because we didn't buy a carpet from the store he dropped us at where he would've got a 30% commission! Meals at various restaurants were tasty and cost about 10 euros per person. The little restaurant Aisha was our favourite, especially because they have a sink with soap to wash hands.
Meknes is one of nicest cities in Morocco, prices are cheap, if you want a good meal go to Hirae, (5min from van mansion hotel) if you want to enjoy the company go to Albadia, If you want to enjoy the old city from above go to cafe BELLA VITA
Meknes is lovely. We were there during Ramadan, so it wasn't that easy to get proper meals in the day. Also there is a lot of rebuilding going on. A visit to the Dar Jemai Mueseum and a day trip to Volubilis is highly recommended. All in all I would definitely go back.
Really tranquil medina compared to Fes and Marrakech. Overall a good glimpse of a real, not so touristy Moroccan city. Unfortunately most important monuments in the city are being renovated, so the experience is not as great as it will be when work is completed in 2023. While the highly rated Restaurant Aisha was certainly very good, the nearby Snack Mounir served the best and super cheap mixed grill sandwich (12 dirhams). Mounir also serves a tasty omelette sandwich (8 dirhama) and the neighbour across the alley serves delicious Harira soup and bread for 4 dirhams. The Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss is spectacular and a must visit.
Experiencing the Morrocan lifestyle waa shown to us by The owners. They are the most gracious and helpful hosts we have ever encountered in our 35 years of travel experience. Riad Dar Pa Labzioui is a quaint and pretty Morrocan home which offers all the necessary amenities required by a traveller. Our experience during our stay here is priceless!!
The only famous place which was open/accessible the Mausoleum of Sultan Ismail Moulay. A lot of places were closed due to construction. The souk and the medina itself is far not so intresting than in Fes. A good starting point to reach Moulnay Idriss and Volubilis which definitely worth a visit. The hotel (Riad Mama H&K) was a very nice and pleasant one which greatly helped to enjoy the stay.
Meknès
The Riad has great location inside the Medina, with a lovely terrace overseeing the area where I enjoyed the panoramic views for both sunrise and sunset in Meknes. The staff here are super friendly and helpful, really making you comfortable like being at home and never hesitated to share tips about the region. the room is spacious, clean, well equipped with nice hot shower. I’d recommend it to anyone traveling to Meknes for more than a day trip!
Meknès
Well located riad on the edge of the medina so not too difficult to find. The host is welcoming and attentive. The room and bathroom were generous in size and the wifi excellent. Traditional Moroccan breakfast was fine. Note that there is a large amount of restoration work going on in Meknes as at May 2023 so many of the sites are either closed or behind hoardings and not visible.
Meknès
Really enjoyed our stay here! It's a beautiful riad in a great location, from which you can easily explore Meknes, or get yourself lost in the streets of Medina. The couple running the riad is absolutely lovely and very helpful, they gave us good tips on the trip and generally we enjoyed talking to them learning about Meknes and Morocco. Can definitely recommend the stay here.
The two gentlemen at the reception were friendly and helpful. They were patient with my poor French/Darija and they fulfilled all my requests. The hotel lobby is gorgeous and filled with zellij tiles. The mint tea was delicious! My son enjoyed the pool. Parking was right in front of the hotel in their private lot, which was nice.

Great Location in the old town. The roof top terrace is awesome, some of the highest views of Meknes. Good Wifi and first proper hot shower I’ve had in Morocco Beds are comfortable in the dorm and no bunk beds staff were amazing and very polite and professional

Good location and nice riad. But most important thing is the staff. He was very kind and helpfull to us. We diddn't so more polite person than him in Morocco
Meknès

Meknès
Great rooms, friendly staff. The location is a five minute walk from the centre of Meknes but still very quite. There is a great terrace.

Location is very central. By far the cleanest room and up-to-standard bathroom during my three weeks in Morocco.
Breakfast was great and staff was very very nice. I have been to this hotel well over 10 times.
