It is a very quiet location very clean but not alot in the area other than student accommodation, private offices and houses nearby. It's a half hour two train journey into Amsterdam which is easy. Fair walk to nearest shops not good with alot of bags. Didn't have any nice food but we ate out. We did find one really good Indian restaurant Holi beautiful food and 20euro taxi ride to it or half hour to 40min walk . If you book the boat ride in Amsterdam get there early and pick up ear phones when you board they supply them we were late so no ear phones and crap seats !!!
Even if the towels were changed daily and the trash was emptied periodically, the dust on the furniture never wiped off, and I don't think the air conditioning installation was cleaned from the installation. There was no room cleaning service on Catholic Easter Sunday. Body towels are small below the standard of a four-star hotel. The number and quality of TV channels is mediocre. There is no possibility to open the room window for natural ventilation. Consider those who need clean air from outside the hotel. The quality of the breakfast is below expectations, respectively below the standard of a four star hotel. The kitchen staff is insufficient. They fail to clear the meals on time or to supply the buffet. The parking lot around the hotel is small, and the one in the basement of the hotel is not used by anyone. The staff is friendly and goes out of their way to please customers, but they are overwhelmed.
Only 8km from the airport and away from the Hussle & bustle of the centre of Amsterdam. The town offers a very varied of high quality bars & eateries. Very easy to walk or cycle around. A must visit is Blossom park.
Amstelveen is in many regards a more Dutch experience than Amsterdam itself. Quieter, wider streets with fewer tourists make the walking and biking experience much better. The highlight was a bike ride on the Amsteldijk starting from Amsterdam and all the way down to Ouderkerk. Great views!
Amstelveen is a bit far from Amsterdam so you need to buy Amsterdam & Regional public transport cards but you cannot use that cards for going to Rotterdam because it's a different region. We had to learn it in a hard way, the seller said we could go by using that card but you cannot. So If you don't want to bother yourself with cards or regions or transportation, don't stay at Amstelveen. But still very easy to access to city center.
Amstelveen is a pretty standard hotel, rather good value for money as the room is nice and the bed comfortable. What lets it down is the location. The metro is out for over a year (which we didn’t know) and the commute via bus to the centre is long! The area around the hotel is very unattractive, a mix of industrial and residential but without shops or restaurants. Staff not particularly friendly either.
Very nice hotel , the hotel located in a very nice and quiet area , 35 to 40 minutes to Amsterdam city centre . Public transportation was very easy . The room was nice , so big and comfortable . The staff was very friendly and so patient answer to any questions for help. The room service was grat and every thing is very clean. Very good breakfast with a great coffee. I recommend this hotel for evry one
Amstelveen
The apartment is big, spacious and clean, with a bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. Modern and comfortable. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Fairly close to Amsterdam (I worked on the south of the city and it is just 10 minutes by car). Lots of nice country walks around.
Friendly helpful staff, 10 minutes to Schiphol, 500 meters to bus station and bus to tram and metro making Amsterdam easily accessible 500 meters to loads of pubs and restaurants and lakeside walks. Free parking and ideal location facing canal.
The hotel is conveniently located near the Amsterdam Forest. A nearby bus stop grants access to the public transport network of the Amsterdam and surroundings. Despite being close to a road, our room was very quiet.
Amstelveen
