We stopped here on a drive from Oslo to Ulsteinvik on the coast. The location is perfect to break your journey and the town is charming. The rooms were fabulous — Scandinavian chique — and the kids loved the upper loft area where they slept. The hotel staff was fantastic and were super accommodating. We arrived late and called in advance asking if we could still eat in their award winning restaurant. While we couldn’t have the standard 5 course menu, they kept aside main course and dessert for us. The meal was the best we had in the trip and the service and hospitality was outstanding!

Lovely and cosy. Loved the wood. The outside and the interior. The setting is beautiful with mountains, a stave church, and a fast running river going by. The decor gave a flavour of traditional Norway without being obviously touristy. Gave a taste of olden times. Dining room was bright and spacious with lovely views. Great breakfast buffet. They even had porridge. We ate dinner in the restaurant which was excellent and used traditional Norwegian ingredients like venison and the brown cheese cheesecake was delicious. Staff were very polite and helpful. The rooms were small but perfectly fine with comfortable beds and very clean.

We had the most spacious room in the house—very comfortable and spotlessly clean, like the rest of the property. Marco is an outstanding host, incredibly welcoming and helpful. The location is ideal, especially for trips to Galdhøpiggen. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh local products.
