The Himalaya Drisha Resort lies a little outside of Dhulikhel on a hillside facing north, in the direction of the Himalaya. The Hotel has a large main building an several smaller units with spacious rooms with balconies facing north as well. We were visiting in mid September and the monsoon time was not over, yet. Even though we had some days with rain, we twice had very good farsight and could see the majestic peaks of the Himalaya visible from Dhulikhel. The rooms are nicely furnished, the beds of very good quality. The main building was the place for breakfast and dinner - the latter had apart from a buffet offer also the possibility to eat a la carte, which we did four out of the five nights of our stay. The staff was very friendly and attentive: From umbrellas (yes, we needed them) to serving the meals and from cleaning the rooms to room service for food and beverages, all was well taken care of and we felt really at home.

I stayed at Asha Lodge from 4th November to 30th November (27 days) while preparing for my exams at Dhulikhel Hospital. The location is very convenient — around 10–15 minutes walking distance from the hospital, which made my daily routine much easier. The staff were exceptionally supportive throughout my stay, especially Mr. Madan. He was extremely responsive and went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable. He arranged a table and chair in my room so I could study properly, provided a hot water bag, iron, and even a room heater (which usually has a daily charge, but he still ensured I had what I needed during the cold nights). On one occasion when I couldn’t find an InDrive ride, he even took me to Dhulikhel Hospital on his own motorbike. This level of hospitality is rare and truly made a difference. The food was tasty, although I couldn’t get the Nepali thali set on most days because they require at least 5 guests to prepare it—understandable since there were fewer guests during my stay. Overall, Asha Lodge is a comfortable and welcoming place, perfect for students, visitors to Dhulikhel Hospital, or anyone looking for a peaceful long-stay option.

The views are exceptional, the atmosphere is quiet and a welcomed pause from the hectic Kathmandu pace, the food was delicious, done with many ingredients grown in the same place, but what really made this a highlight of my whole Nepal trip was a side fire chat with the host Mr. Pradeep while he was preparing dinner for me even when I arrived late, we had a conversation about Nepal's history, religion, politics, philosophy and his own vision for the future, I wish him nothing but success and I will definitely come back here to stay. You can visit the nearby stupa and monastery by a short walk and get a bus or arrange a taxi to Kathmandu or other destinations. This is a real home stay run by a family in the country side with simple accommodations and that is the true beauty of it.
