With garden views, Western House B&B Kurow is located in Kurow and has free WiFi. A continental breakfast is available daily at the bed and breakfast. Western House B&B Kurow offers a barbecue. We slept in a cozy and very clean cabin, with it's own toilete and shower. There was also possible to make a coffee or tea. Flat TV was loaded with Netflix and many other programs. Kids enjoyed garden and feeding animals. John and Linda are perfect hosts. Breakfest was amazing, we really enjoyed our stay and we can only recommand this B&B to others.
Riverside B & B in Kurow features 5-star accommodations with a garden, a terrace and a shared lounge. Lounge room features a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. Lovely host; great property with beautiful natural light; right on the Alps to Ocean cycle trail; storage for bikes; host organized dinner in town at a restaurant (that opened only to provide for Riverside guests)
Offering a sun terrace, Waitaki Braids is set in Kurow. Hunter is 30 mi away. All units feature a seating area. Every unit is fitted with a private bathroom with a hairdryer. Waitaki Braids is a small hotel at the back of a superior cafe serving amazing food. My room looked over the lawn where you can play bocce or croquet. Well furnished room, with amazingly comfortable bed and nice bathroom. 3 course set dinner offered to guests. A great experience, particularly if you are doing the Alps to Ocean bike trail.
Located in Kurow in the Otago region, Kurow House on Bledisloe - A2O Cycle Trail Oasis. Has a patio and mountain views. Quick and easy communication, great location along the A2O with supermarket in walking distance. Comfortable house, lounge- spacious kitchen - highly recommend this place
Windhaven Bed & Breakfast has garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Duntroon. There is a shared bathroom with hot tub and a hairdryer in each unit, along with free toiletries. The breakfast was divine. Just like the photo. Location simply excellent and friendly hosts. Will certainly stay again when in the region. The large warm lounge with the open fire topped off the stay.
Looking at the old shops and walking around yesteryear. We brought food from the local superette and cooked it back at the motel All very handy. Yes its very easy to get around Kurow - comfortable stroll down both sides of the streets and pubs at both ends (for the drinkers) ;) Wouldn't avoid anything in particular It was all fun! This was a special trip for me back to my old home town at Otematata a few miles West. The Kurow motel was the ONLY place that we could stay with our dog. Much appreciated!
I'm a bit biased as I was born there many years ago (did'nt live there). The locals were great at the gift shop and the museum. The local boutique winer a few minutes out of town was also absolutely lovely and relaxing. Great wine and food.
A small town with some interesting history, the building of the Waitaki dam and the birthplace of social security in New Zealand. My grandfather was a doctor in Kurow in the 1920's-30's during the dam building and helped set up the local medical insurance scheme there. We also left some artefacts of granddad's with the Kurow museum. This was the purpose of our visit.
Kurow has everything you need, petrol station, information centre, shop to buy supplies, hotels and cafes to eat at if you want to. Lots of places to explore and enjoy.....people to meet when wandering around. Time to chill out and catch up. I do a bit of writing and set up in motel was just ideal for that.
Kurow is the perfect hub for a fly fishing expedition. Either fish the Waitaki River in Kurow or venture to any of one hundred fishing locations within an hour’s drive of Kurow. Visit either of the two pubs or the various small restaurants for a warm local welcome.
Couldn't have been better. Great welcome and very comfortable B and B with a very nice breakfast. Would definitely stay again when in the area (great stopping point when heading from Dunedin on the way to Mount Cook or Lake Tekapo). Nothing at all to complain about and do go to the local hotel/pub for dinner, especially the Blue Cod and Chips (best we had in the 2 weeks we were in New Zealand)!
