Cafe named Greedy Cow was terrific. Coffee and food yummy, and staff so friendly. Also the Aotea Gifts was great to buy your souvenirs as they had many things on special. (Manuka face cream $5) Short walk from town centre over the bridge to see the sights.
A beautiful view and lake but not a lot to do and see there. A nice cafe would be lovely overlooking the lake but all cafes look into shopping centre or car parking. A very poorly designed town we thought generally with sections being subdivided to make money for greedy landlords with no thought to the beauty of the town.
Lots to see and do. We enjoyed Tekapo Springs, a soak in the pools was just what was needed after a day Mountain Biking. Very picturesque place. Plenty of free activities also if you looked in the right places.
We went to see the stars at Mt John with the Dark Sky Project. Very well run company excellent to deal with The sky clouded over just before we went on the trip. We didn’t have a great view but were given a screen presentation and a 50% refund which was very fair.
lovely place to visit especially if you have a boat. great coffee shops a four square supermarket with everything you need. great playground in the township and a short walk across the bridge to the church of the good Shepard.. there's also the hot pools they are fantastic and never to busy, great café with coffee pizza.
Beautifully lakeside walkways bridges accessible. Could do w more Cafe style food cafes open at night.had to Google Cafe to see if do pizzas where a board outside would've been more helpful. A very busy fish and chip shop but the only one in town. The supermarket was hard to find. The public toilet when first arrive needed to have $1 to get In further along lake was free public toilet 🚻.
We used this property for a group of friends re-uniting with several couples and it was a great place to base our stay for the weekend. The house was modern, clean and had all the extras on top that really go above and beyond - bbq, speakers, fire, garage, games. The staff were very friendly to deal with and made us feel very welcome into the property. Would definitely recommend this property or any others managed by Lake Tekapo Holiday Homes. Great Stay
We stayed in the family unit with two bedrooms. The house was very spacious and nicely placed furniture. Lovely open plan and massive walk in shower suites in both bedrooms. Had two shower heads in each shower, with one being detachable. Kitchen came with all the amenities needed including plates, cutlery, cups, knives etc. Was very well stocked. Highly recommend this place! Location is only a stones throw away from the shops and lake tekapo.
with this small property you get the comforts of a top end hotel - with very appointed rooms and every small detail you can want provided for - with lovely bed and breakfast style hospitality from the owners. The property is well located on the hill just above the town centre - with great views of Lake Tekapo. Breakfast is served by the owners -- and was a great start for the day.
A perfect location just close enough to the heart of Lake Tekapo village while also retaining that rural farm-stay feeling, surrounded by ducks, chooks, sheep, alpaca and Whisky the pig. The roaring evening fire and the chance to bathe under the incredible star-scape were highlights of our South Island tour.
A friend has recommended the hotel, and the hotel has lived up to expectations. The location is fantastic -- it has a good view of Lake Tekapo and is within easy walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants, shops. The staff are friendly and efficient. Check-in and check-out have been seamless.
The place is lovely, fresh decor and outstanding views. We usually go to Peppers and there is only a view of other units. Now The Godley Hotel is our new place to go. Its in walking distance to shops and the wee church. Comfortable bed and lovely powerful shower. Thank you staff.
This was the perfect cute cottage close to the Church of the Good Shepherd, Lake Tekapo and the main shops. The cottage itself was warm and inviting. It was everything we needed for one night.
Great location with view of lake tekapo. New build well laid out rooms with very comfortable beds. Hosts very friendly and super helpful and did all they could to make the stay very enjoyable
Most of the functions in the house were very nice. The housekeeping comes everyday unlike most of the other hotels and motels. Changed towels added amenities, very nice.
