Very nice place with beautiful view, super friendly staff, perfect furnished chalet, clean and tidy!! One of our best holiday, we would like to come back for sure. Abel Tasman coastal trek with many stunnig beaches very close from chalet, just few minutes entrance to trek.Marahau is a nice small town and people are very kind and lovely.
Enjoyed it being bit quieter than The ever popular Kaiteriteri. ( used to go there ). A couple of cafes where you could eat or just have a nice coffee. Up the valley road the bird life with baby quails running everywhere and birdsong and cicadas much nicer than people and traffic noise. Really nice walking path along the beach .
Beautiful area, not too far to drive to, access to the Abel Tasman National Park couldn't have been easier, loved all the various lengths of walks and access to different beach areas, so simple, catered for all walkers, so lovely and cool in the bush and then you arrive at a multitude of lovely swimming areas! Take your book, lunch, and plenty to drink you could spend a full day just doing the light walk and swimming holes...loved the beach at Split Apple Rock just a tad over the hill...3 minute drive...a bit deeper to swim in and plenty of space, this was one of our top swimming areas of the entire coastal area!
After my first review a couple of days after returning home I began to think about some of the minuses about our stay. Yes, everything was spotless and it was very well equipped and the breakfast provided was super. BUT I have to agree with one or two of the other reviewers. 1. The key hadn't been left for us and we had to ring the owner as she wasn't at the property (of course this does happen sometimes) 2. No meet & greet "Is everything OK?" Even at much cheaper accommodation, we have been greeted. 3. The living area became very hot during the day due to the fact that the blind wasn't the correct one to deal with the direct sunlight streaming in during the afternoon. 4. Yes, I do think it was overpriced because of where it was situated in Marahau. Glynis Clark Nelson
We thoroughly enjoyed our accommodation & all the wonderful amenities we had there. As we were a group of 16 we did our own cooking on either the BBQ or in the kitchen. Marahau is very easy to get around & is right on the start of the Able Tasman National Park whwere we did lots of walks & Kyaking.
Single occupancy! (Not share,). No issue, only a few touches to improve on. I arrived late and tired and i took long into night to relax. I left at checkout time. I think, my experience could have a half room rate applied...
