Very easy town for walking. We were hampered by miserable weather, but I think we could have been happy there for three days. We would have walked a bit of the Camino trail and back again....saw several others in the hotel who were obviously hiking the trail. Many historic sites, museums, outdoor cafes. Reasonable prices in restaurants, good seafood.
Rich seating rooms and salons, terraces, garden and viewpoints of unique beauty. Elegant and comfortable rooms, clean and spacious. However lacking a desk to display a laptop. Service very competent, prompt and friendly. Recommendations: improve the quality of the coffee at the breakfast (e.g. Illy café). Maybe a shuttle service to the city centre.
Great place to realy but also to visit old interesting but not so crowded Portuguese cities . A walk along the ocean side or a bike tour it s a good option anytime, also the chocolate and the traditional costumes museum. Ask in your hotel about wine tastings and try in the small restaurants the traditional disches. Maybe take a taxi an go to the restaurant Camelho (it s a bit outside the town but great). Also try the local cakes. There is also a castle very interesting from otuside, in November we had no possibility to go inside.
The historic heart of the town and a great beach make for a nice balance of things to do here. There are plenty of things to keep you occupied for at least a couple of days and the beach across the river is excellent, although watch out for what can be a chilly wind even when the sun is shining. Plenty of good places to eat and drink at reasonable prices and you can park the car and forget about it as this is a town you have to walk around to enjoy it at its best. Depending on the time of year there are lots of festivals and a lively cultural scene as well. For me the top restaurant in town is at the Casa Melo Alvim hotel next to the railway station and the best places to visit are the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus ( the views are stunning) and the Misericordio.
It was a fleeting visit en route to Porto for flight home but what we saw was charming. We ate at our hotel (PensaoO Laranjeira) which proved to be an excellent choice. The historic centre of Viana is quite small and easy to explore. I would have liked more time to explore and visit some of the museums and beautiful churches. I would have liked to visit the Sanctuario Santa Luzia on the hill, overlooking Viana
Very good restaurants, transport system was excellent, including buses and trains and the people were very friendly. The streets and pavements were spotless and all the historical buildings were very interesting and well run. Our favorite restaurant was O Manel a short walk from our hotel, Margarida da Praca.

Amorosa is a very convenient location for anyone willing to cruise around the North of Portugal. A car is crucial to optimize the benefits from the place. As for the location, we appreciated the swift response by Fernanda for a small problem with a facility.
