Place is well renovated in a quiet little street. Possibility to park 1 or 2 cars in front of the hotel. Amazing and kind staff. I had booked a room with a balcony and little kitchen. Air conditioning is available both in living room and bedroom.

The Wakola Hotel Cheikh Anta DIOP is centrally located in Dakar within easy reach of most of the city’s attractions and neighbourhoods. It is modern and spotlessly clean with a refreshing perfumed smell in the rooms after they have been cleaned. Staff are extremely friendly and go out of their way to make sure that guests are made to feel comfortable and welcomed. A good breakfast is served at the rooftop restaurant overlooking the city. The price of the rooms also represents great value for money. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again or recommend to others.

I believe that Dakar is a wonderful introduction to Africa, for first time visitors. The people are gentle and very hospitable. They greet you, even on the bus or the corner store! The weather can be hot, however that is to be expected. Visit the Markets -Sandiga, HLM, Tilen, or Colobane. Just the peoples' everyday clothing is like witnessing a fashion show!. Visit Ngor Island , with a traditional boat ride to the artists' retreat. Go to Goree Island, where the enslaved inhabitants were housed before being shipped off to North, and South America. The ocean alone is a sight to see, and its bountiful fish are a tasteful delight.

It is a beautiful city but very very expensive.

It is a beautiful city but very very expensive. Without lots of money you will hardly enjoy it as you want. But to be fair one can enjoy staying in Dakar with humility if you want to enjoy the local life there such as travelling by public transport, eating what you cook or the local fast food,. This can be also a very pleasant experience. Although one most be mindful when shopping at the markets due to expensive prices by some vendors.

People are friendly, felt safe walking around. Visited the Monument and did a city tour drive using a taxi to see key areas---National Assembly, Administrative Office, Presidential Palace, Market, Mosque of Divinity and Port. Weather was not too bad, cool breeze near the beaches.

After I left Hotel Jardin Savannah, I moved in to Terrou-Bi and I liked everything there. I enjoyed the environment so much that I didn't have time to visit elsewhere in the city. I'll definitely visit Dakar again and this time i will take a walk in the city.

The city of Dakar is vibrant and full of life, so everyone can find something for themselves - from delicious local food and incredible culture to shopping at local markets. You can visit Gorée Island, take a taxi outside the city to see the outskirts, or explore nature.

I have travelled a lot to many countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, etc. Dakar/Senegal is one of my favorite places to visit. I love the ambiance of the people. It's Africa not Europe, so if you love culture, people and good food Dakar is a good choice in West Africa.

This is a very comfortable hotel in the middle of a lovely area in Dakar - Mermoz - from where it is easy to catch a taxi to wherever you need to go. For example, it is about 15 minutes drive from the University (depending on traffic). The staff are lovely and were very tolerant of my non-existent French. My flight time changed due to a transit delay and they were easily able to accommodate a time change to the taxi that they had arranged for me. The wifi was excellent - I was able to attend an online meeting with no problems.

The Airport transfer and assistance from the driver Kader was excellent. This was a last minute booking to obtain a Liberia visa and my goal was met. The hotel is an oasis in a rather scruffy exurb "convenient" to the distant airport and various parts of Dakar. Better for business and budget than for "leisure".

The stay was very good with an excellent service. They hotel organised the transfer from the airport and back. Both transfers were perfect. Breakfast had a wide selection and the buffet was very extensive. This statement is also correct for the lunch. The staff was very polite and courteous. A very good stay!!

Very pleasant and clean hotel with nice staff. Dakar is relatively safe (perhaps not for a woman alone late evening or night - but that's not limited to Dakar ...), and the surroundings of the hotel are fine too, with a short nice walk to both the Sunrise as well as the Sunset side of the peninsula.

One of the hotels we always stay in when we are in Senegal. We like the location, the staff, the comfy rooms, good food and the roof top bar. We especially liked during our stay this time that we had a room with a balcony.
