Among the facilities of this property are a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk and room service, along with free WiFi. The property offers bike rental and features a garden and year-round outdoor pool. Decoration of the room is gorgeous. The staff is friendly to handle with the problem and give suggestion. In my case, we went out for the whole day but could not come back for the swimming pool operating time due to we are lost the direction. Luckily, the staff are understandable about our situation and the kids are really want to swim badly. Therefore, they offer more time for us to use the swimming pool.

Namkhong Guesthouse and Resort

Hotel in Chiang Khong

Located in Chiang Khong, 34 mi from Chiang Saen, Namkhong Guest house and Resort features an outdoor pool and sun terrace. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. The hotel was well located and had great facilities. It was one of the nicer places I stayed but was very cheap. I only stayed one night before getting the slow boat to Laos but would have happily spent a couple of nights there! Didn't get to the use the pool but heard from another guest that it was nice.

The staff was great. We needed to go into town to exchange for some American currency so they took us at no charge to the bank. The space was super clean and enjoyed the really hot shower. Definitely worth the price. Also a short ride to the border.

Siam Tara Resort Chiangkhong

Hotel in Chiang Khong

Offering an outdoor pool, barbecue and terrace, Siam Tara Resort is set in Baan Jo Go,0.9 mi from Tesco Lotus Chiang Khong and 22 mi from Chiang Saen. The hotel is centred around a beautiful large salt water pool which was so inviting after the long bus ride from Chiang Rai. The grounds are well kept and clean as was the lovely room with a very comfortable large bed and linens. This really is a gem in the middle of no where! The UK owner was friendly and always available to help us communicate with the non-English speaking staff. We had a nice meal at the restaurant. We went to view the very unusual half finished aquarium building just a short walk down the road. We were picked up in the morning by our pre-arranged transport included in our long boat cruise down the Mekong to Luang Prabang via Pakbeng. We only stayed one night but it would have made a very good place to have a longer stay and break from the chaos of the cities.

Located in Chiang Khong, Panna Kalong has free WiFi, and guests can enjoy free bikes and a garden. Some units have a dining area and/or a balcony. Comfortable rooms in a beautiful place! We stoped at Chiang Khong to cross the border the next day, and we ended up loving this place. We had a really nice bike trip around the town, we had a delicious dinner cooked by the owner (which is payed as an optional extra and is totally worth it) and the next day she dropped us at the border.

Sleeping Well Chiangkhong

Chiang Khong

Located in Chiang Khong, Sleeping Well Chiangkhong features a restaurant, free bikes, shared lounge, and free WiFi throughout the property. This 2-star hostel offers room service and valet parking. I stayed here for one night before taking the slow boat to Luang Prabang. The place is clean, comfortable and quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful. I booked the villa on the top floor...the fifth floor. There's no elevator. The room was spacious and comfortable, but....the height of the room is only 1.4 meters, so I could not stand up. The guy who checked me in said I could switch rooms, but I decided to stay since it was only for one night. I did hit my head on the ceiling a few times, but no major injuries. I loved the private balcony which provided amazing views. The outdoor bathroom was interesting. The open-air shower had good water pressure and hot water. There were mosquitoes around the sink and toilet, but that's what happens when the facilities are outside. Overall, this was a nice, comfortable place to stay for a night.
