Located in Nong Khai, within 2625 feet of Tha Sadet Market and 5 mi of Thai-Laos Friendship Bridge, Pantawee Hotel Branch 2 provides accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool and free WiFi... For the price it was an excelling basic but clean and tidy hotel , the main hotel is closed due to covit but this is behind it The only. Cheeky thing really is the swimming pool looks large But its actually very small although it is a deep pool its only really a refreshing short swim type of pool The photo on the booking page is taken I suspect using a wide angled lens I booked because of a pool so a bit disappointing BUT the staff were so helpful and have been there for 30 years I WOULD use it again and go to another hotel witha large pool close by just to swim For less than 10 pounds this is a great hotel

Perfect tourist place with lots of interesting things to do. Quaint markets and river walks are highlights of our stay. We hired a car at Udon Thani airport and that was our big plus to explore things around Nongkhai. Some of the places are 30-50 km away so having your car is necessary.
The Mekong river is impressive. The skywalk (Mountain forest temple) with spectacular views is worth visiting about 60 k west. This incoperates a pleasant river drive. Nong Khai town itself looks run down particularly by the waterfront.
Nice place to stay a few days with family and friends. Boulevard has nice restaurants and bars. In the evening the boulevard is filled with people selling all kind of stuff. The market is what you would expect of a market in Asia. Sala Keoku is a nice sculpture park just outside of Nong Khai. For people who like rum: There is a rum distillery near Nong Khai named Issan Rum Distillery. They make rum from sucker cane and you can follow the whole process. You can sit near a pont and taste their product and of cause buy bottles of rum.
A small nice Thai city by the Mekong River. Have everything of shops and markets. You can get massage, see famous temples and a fantastic sculpture park. A lot of streets restaurants and a handful of mixed restaurants with local food and western food. If you have been to touristic places the prices are very friendly.
Very relaxed pace ,no one is in a hurry ,no traffic jams like Pattaya,Phuket or Bangkok, the river walks or pushbike rides goes for a long way right on the river ,good street food ,a few quiet bars around for a cold beer and chat with the locals ,very enjoyable after being in the tourist hotspots for a few months .
