So it's a Cave hotel. You are in a cave, that has been converted and it's warm and comfortable. The rooms are not big of course, but well lit. Have to watch the steps in the room. The shower was good. Bed semi comfortable. The staff helpful for trips and finding great food spots. The view of the balloons is fantastic rom the deck, overlooking the valley. its a quiet spot away from the busy tourist drag so good spot for sleeping.

We spent 3 nights there, which was enough to get a taste of the area. We did a balloon ride the first morning (a must do!) followed by an all day tour of one of the underground cities, the open air museum, a pottery workshop, a great local lunch in a nearby town, a walk thru the fairy chimneys, and a couple different stops a panoramic viewpoints. The next day was a Turkish spa in the morning and a cooking class in the afternoon. There was still lots of other things we could have done, with more time - horse and ATV riding, explored more of the town, hiking. Goreme itself is not too large and easy to walk, though it is hilly. LOTS of tourists, lots of hotels, lots of restaurants. Our hotel, Kelebek Cave Hotel, was at the edge of town, which was somewhat protected from too many people, which we liked.

The Capadoccia area is fantastic and could have expired more. Great to be so remote and away from the crowds and back to nature. Would drive next time. Hotels are an hour from Kayseri airport and need 2 hours to checkin, to factor into your trip

What a lovely little town.
What a lovely little town. A bit on the pricey side for Turkey, but well worth it for the beauty of the area; great food offerings and of course the chance to go on the incredible famous balloon rides. Recommend visiting even in November as the weather was clear, the streets were quiet and the attractions and tours were discounted.

I loved Goreme and I loved the hotel.
I loved Goreme and I loved the hotel. It was like living in a well furnished, elegant cave. Absolutely amazing.
The gentleman who did our check-in was very hospitable, very inviting, gentle, caring and very friendly. He was so caring that he went to check where we had parked our car to see that it was safe and no-one would hit it. That is valuable for us.
We wandered around Goreme at night to see the inner area of the city and it is amazing! The hotel has an area on top that you can go and relax or see the baloons rising in the morning. We went up there at 5am and sat on the pillows. All of a sudden the sky exploded with baloons from all over. Spectacular.

We stayed three nights, did two excursions and a balloon flight. The food in Goreme is good, as is the Cappadocia wine, the infrastructure is excellent and the towns and the villages are clean. Cappadocia is beautiful! In October though, it's already cold at night and so is the water of the pools (cold). :D
