We loved this place and everything about it. The host is lovely—she gave us many recommendations, ensured we knew what trains to take for our outings, gave us small gifts and goodies, offered to help us get laundry washed, and provided flexibility with check in and check out. All this she did with patience and a smile, even though we could not speak Mandarin and had to rely on translation apps. The location is excellent—walking distance to several buses and trains to nearby Jiufen, Shifen Waterfall, Bitoujiao, Keelung, and other great spots. The room itself is quiet, comfortable, and spacious with great lighting. It seems very clean and modern, with nothing out of date and everything functioning perfectly. It is well-appointed and nicely laid out. Guests have access to water, a refrigerator, a tea kettle, coffee, and fast/consistent WiFi. The toiletries and soaps were luxury, and we took note of the shower gel in particular so we can buy it to take home. This place is exceptional value, easy to book and find, and offered us complete privacy and autonomy. The host provided great communication from our initial booking until we said goodbye. Overall we give this hotel our highest recommendation—it was our favorite hotel of the 4 we stayed in on our visit throughout the island. The next time we come to the Taipei area, we will stay here.

This was such a great location to get into Juifen as well as all of the walking and hiking trails in the area. The house had everything, it felt like home! The host was the kindest man, was so extremely helpful with advice, recommendations in the bad weather, and showing me around the area out of pure kindness. What a special stay in Taiwan.

The view from the room was spectacular! It looks out to the East China Sea. We can see the waves coming in and hitting the coastline. The B&B was smart to indicate on their name that it has no elevator. This did not deter us. The reception is on the second floor and our room was on the third floor. The room was clean, compact and functional. We got to pick our breakfast when we check in and it gets delivered the next morning at 8am. We like the options available for breakfast.
