We had an incredible experience at Infinity Boutique & Spa Resort in Matemwe. The entire stay was filled with a peaceful, relaxing vibe that made it hard to leave. The staff and even the owners were truly living, caring, and genuinely supportive. They went above and beyond to help us arrange activities, always using high quality, reliable drivers, which made exploring Zanzibar stress-free. The food was another highlight: hearty, flavorful, and clearly made with love. Every meal was a treat, and the attention to detail was impressive. The hotel was beautifully set in a lovely beach garden, in a quiet area and the was very comfortable and clean. Our rooms were large and the food at the restaurant was very tasty, although sometimes portion sizes varied. The staff were very helpful and made our trip even better! Especially Emmanuel who runs reception and does many other things around the hotel and for the guests.

Mambo Paradise is a wonderful, intimate hotel located right by the beach. Spacious rooms with a breathtaking view of the ocean and a beautiful sunrise every morning. In this location, you can truly experience the local life of the smiling villagers. The endless stretch of pristine beach is perfect for long walks. The hotel’s restaurant is excellent, serving delicious breakfasts and fresh seafood dishes throughout the day, as well as other local specialties. Freshly squeezed juices, coconuts straight from the palm tree—everything is healthy and prepared by hand. Kasia, the owner, is always cheerful and helpful in organizing excursions. Highly recommended!

You can easily arrange dolphin watching and swimming tours – look for Captain Lucho, he helped us with everything and made the experience amazing. A beautiful and relaxing place to stay!

Matemwe was nice - the beach part.

Matemwe was nice - the beach part. Sad to see the poverty behind the gates of the hotel. The tides were a bit different from what we have expected as the water would leave the beach at 9am and return around 5pm. If you did not make it to swim early in the morning, you missed it. We took a reef walk which was beautiful, saw a lot of see creatures, and that was very amazing experience. Also took a boat tour to see the sunset - it was worth the trip. Did not like how the locals would just stop on the beach and start shouting at you to buy smth. Also the part of the hotel beach is not segregated in any way, which does not give you a privacy enough. The food was amazing though - the hotel goes much beyond - and all day brekfast concept was amazing.

Matemwe is ideal for relaxing and spending quality time with friends and family. Matemwe is near Mnemba island 🏝️ for swimming with dolphins 🐬 . We rode bicycles 🚲 around the village and the place felt very safe. There are few alternative places for lunch or dinner. Not too far from stone town.

The snorkeling was a true adventure, with well-protected marine life and crystal-clear water. Spotting the dolphins was an unexpected bonus! Visiting the sea turtle rehabilitation center and feeding them was a special experience.

Matemwe beach was huge and totally uncrowded - some days we were lucky to see 10 - 20 people pass by! Loved the Massai beach hawkers - friendly and laid back happy to have their pictures taken - no hassle or relentless chasing - once told 'no' they respected our space. Recommend a day trip to Nungwi for a completely different vibe and fantastic sunset. Matemwe is somewhat isolated and if you want to get around you need to secure the number of a local taxi driver - always bargain hard beforehand. Most hotels organise trips/tours but at a premium.

It was a quieter beach which was nice which also meant not too many people hassling you to buy things. Those that did were respectful. Beach is nice but the sea depth is very shallow most of the day so swimming wasn't the easiest and there was a lot of seaweed when we were there.

We stayed for 5 nights at the most beautiful resort in Zanzibar. Thomas' welcome at 11 PM with a birthday cake, songs, and room decorations touched us deeply. His hospitality was exceptional and enhanced our entire vacation experience. His wife also took care of everything for us. We enjoyed the proximity to the sea and the clean beach that the hotel offers. The rooms are designed to a high standard, down to the smallest detail, and the cleanliness is 10/10. If you come to Zanzibar, stay only at this hotel.
