Fun, I thought everything was very expensive, the city needs to upgrade their game in the hotel insustry, it's very outdated. I reccomend avoiding the weekends, during the high season it gets too crowded, we couldnt find a place to have lunch, everything was pact, the main road had horrible traffic on it. The ski and snowboarding was fun, the sliding with sleds was fun.
If you're not skiing like we weren't, the town has a lot of shops and restaurants. We went on the horse carriage ride which was expensive, but it was the highlight during the winter. Most everything else was closed. The Peppercorn Restaurant was awesome also. It's a cute town, but you only need a day or two and then you'd pretty much need to depend on a cabin or house with a lot of amenities to keep you occupied. It would be a fun family getaway.
We live 1 hour away so this is simply one of our getaway places. We live in Socal so there's so many places to go and this is a nice one that's close to home. It's not a big mountain town because it's not a big mountain but it's cozy, cute and every visit is interesting. Adventure awaits at Big Bear Lake.
The price you pay plus the service you receive and the customer service they provide, it’s above expectations. You couldn’t find that or get that at a resort. They are so friendly they made me feel at home. They were so friendly and accommodating that I didn’t want to leave but unfortunately it was all the time I had. It felt like I was with family and friends! Thank you! If you are reading this and are thinking about if you should stay here, we’ll don’t think twice and book right away before they are booked! Trust me, you won’t regret it! Best money spent 👋
Nice place to visit for a last minute getaway. However, if you go during the summer be advised that's usually during the fire season here in Southern California. The day we left a "controlled" burn quickly became "uncontrolled." We left before that fire and the Fairview Fire in Hemet, CA got out of control.
Oakside restaurant was fantastic, best place in town. I would pass on the Italian restaurant called Pergola, food was just okay but very expensive, 18 for a cocktail and they couldn’t get anything right. Maybe just growing pains but I would pass on them for now.
Big Bear Lake
Everything was filthy. I spent the first several hours cleaning with wipes from my car and they were BLACK with filth. There was poop on the patio and the back yard, no heat in the middle of winter in the bedrooms, cabinets falling apart. I was reimbursed a fraction of what I paid. I will never use bigbearcoolcabins.com again.
Big Bear Lake
The rooms were very clean and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Great location and the free bike, kayaks and canoe rentals was a huge bonus. I also really enjoyed the outdoor seating area, the outdoor fireplaces and the yard games. Very nice property and the cabins are very well maintained
The log cabins are very unique and come with their own fireplace. You can get some firewood from the office and get right into the comforting warmth. Parking on site - it is very quiet although right off the main road. Big rooms in an alpine style charm.
I liked that it is close to the Village Shops. The hotel was clean and my room. It was cold at night so the little heater in my room came in handy. This hotel is pet friendly and I love that. Also, the employees I came in contact with were friendly.
The many themed cabins this cottage offers stands out as a fun way to enjoy the Big Bear Lake experience to the fullest! The amenities the host provides allows us to relax during our stay here. The heater, jacuzzi, hot water works amazing!
