FAQs about hotels in Chicago

Our Kind of Town

Standing proud beside Lake Michigan, Chicago is down-to-earth, friendly, and full of culture. It has outdoor art by famous artists including Chagall and Picasso, and there are some fascinating architectural works from the Art Institute of Chicago.

Home to blues and house music, Chicago has an eclectic music scene that reflects its spirit. The Windy City is also a pioneer in a variety of Americanized dishes from it's European immigrant roots like deep-dish pizza and the Chicago hot dog.

The world’s first skyscraper and Ferris wheel were erected in Chicago. The latter, on Navy Pier, is one of the Midwest’s most visited sights. Also famed is the ‘L’ transport system, whose raised trains circle The Loop, the main business district. Check out its skyline reflection in the shiny bean sculpture in huge Millennium Park.

Home of the Bulls and Bears, Chicago is a stronghold of sport and has teams playing baseball, basketball, American football and hockey, to name a few. If you get a chance, try to catch a game.

Chicago Midway and Chicago O’Hare Airport are both on the outskirts of this vast city, so make sure to leave enough time for travel from your Booking.com hotel, apartment or hostel. And all that jazz.

downtown is a fun place with great food and lots of great shopping. It can be an expensive place though and there is nowhere to sit because the city and all the stores removed seating to stop homeless from loitering. it is what it is.

We visited for 6 days and saw most everything. The aquarium was great. Unfortunately, the museum I wanted to visit was closed on Tuesday and Wednesday the Art Institute. We did go to the Natural History Field Museum and Science and Industry Museum were just ok. Architectural tour was great. We bought the City Pass and it seemed to work well for us, to enter most of what we did.

    A wonderful city!

A wonderful city! My second visit and always go to the Art Institute, usually to look at the same art. The architecture is stunning and never fails to give pleasure. Went on an architecture cruise this time and enjoyed it very much. Love the restaurants and bars and just walking the streets - always loosing my way but enjoying new finds. Prefer to NYC. The Loop is great fun and visit Oak Park to visit Frank Lloyd Wright's house. Can also recommend Chinatown for accommodation and a warm welcome.

The hotel is located right in the centre of downtown Chicago, just beside the river. It is within a minute's walk of several shops, resteraunts and bars. I had a nice room overlooking the river.
