Chicago was such a cool city to visit. I like to live life at a slower pace, so two days was plenty of time for me to spend in the fast paced city. I was not prepared to need a recovery day or two from all of the walking and biking we did while there. 😅 definitely plan for that! The Museum of Science and industry was fun but would’ve been more fun if we had kids. The aquarium was a blast, there were beluga whales and penguins! Biking around Chicago was so much fun, there is so much to see and the Ubers/Lyfts were too expensive to constantly be using. Our favorite adventure was the SkyDeck! It was absolutely breathtaking. I will definitely visit Chicago again!
I am NOT city person who would like visiting cities with skyscrapers, but I got impressed too much from that city. I love it. Night walk on the streets and coastline of Chicago was superb. Next day, I visited free ZOO which I liked so much. I got touched of that city and I am impressed how my expectations turned to the positive memories. I did not see a lot in the city, but I think I saw the most important places. The city is pretty much expensive and I tried to do my best of exploring. Now I can say I love Chicago.
We had a blast in Chicago! We would highly recommend the Architecture Boat Tour and Field Museum. We went to the Shedd Aquarium and it was fun but probably more fun with kids. My husband and I felt the same way about the Museum of Science and Industry. We were happy we got to see the visiting Pompeii exhibit and take the U boat tour, but the rest of the museum was kid centric and it was just the two of us. We loved the Field Museum! It was wonderful with or without kids. We ate deep dish pizza at Giodano's, got a Chicago style hot dog from the stand outside the Field Museum, and got an Italian beef at Luke's on Jackson. All were great examples of these Chicago classics. For our "fancy" meal, we ate at Bar Mar and it was fabulous! Go if you get the chance. We tried to go to the Art Institute but it's closed Tuesday and Wednesday (who knew?!) so head up on that.
Chicago is a fantastic American city with much to see and experience. We took one of the architecture tours by river boat and went to Lincoln and Millennium Parks, the Chicago Art Institute, a quirky bookstore-pub called Kibbitznest, and went up and down the River Walk several times. Did I say that the restaurants are fantastic? We also spent time in the Harold Washington Library where the 9th floor atrium was gorgeous.
This hotel was very misleading in regards to their cancelation policy. I was due over $300 for cancelling. The hotel told me that it was non-refundable and I had paperwork stating otherwise. I did not get the refund due me. So....on top of me being screwed by the dealership selling the car that I put a deposit on out from under me, I was out $566+ on my hotel room. This hotel sucks and has improper practices installed into their reservation system. They couldn't find my reservation when I called them. I called the Manager and she chose not to deal with me...Coward!!!
Chicago is an amazing city with so much to do and see. We visited as we had tickets for a concert at the Allstate Arena which is about 30-40 minutes out of the city’s but we wanted to be in the centre. We managed to fit in the Architecture Lake Cruise, visited the History museum and the Aquarium alongside the lake walk. There are plenty of shops for some retail therapy and an abundance of restaurants and bars. The only issue is the transport, we were warned not to be use the CTA metro to get to the Allstate Arena as apparently it wasn’t safe , it’s not manned and vagrants use it as home. There is also no direct bus or coach service to the arena which is crazy if there are concerts or other events going on… someone is missing a trick. Instead we used uber to get there but booked a taxi for the return journey as uber were cancelling at the last minute when the concert ended (we found this out from friends who attended the evening before. Apart from the transport issue. I would definitely visit again for a little longer.
the staff was amazing. Nice, helpful, efficient and willing to offer help when they sensed what I needed before I even asked. The room was comfy and bed super comfy. Even the view was ok. As is many downtown Chicago hotels, the overhead train was nearby. Knowing this I brought earplugs. The only way to avoid this is being further out and that is lame! So this was a close walk to everything. After my conference I walked to the Chicago Art Museum and saw the Cezanne exhibit on a Thursday night - when that museum is open until 8 pm. Awesome!!!!
Great price for the location. Read reviews before you book it to not be surprised. Room is small but big enough if you're just spending one or two nights in Chicago. It's very clean which is important to me. Had everything we needed. Staff was very helpful and nice. If you're driving there's a parking on the other side of the street. It says $57 for the night but ask staff at the hotel and they'll give you a discount so you'll pay only $30 per night/24 h which is a good deal for downtown Chicago...
Loved my stay there. If you’re driving to Chicago this is the perfect location to stay at because downtown is literally 5 minutes drive away and you can save money by staying here and driving to Downtown. Hotel was good and clean with all the basic facilities. Room was very spacious. If you are driving there you need to find parking as its not free. But there are streets right opposite to the hotel where you can find free parking.
A lovely big room with stunning views of Lake Michigan and Navy pier. There is a separate lounge sitting area beside the bed. You can put your feet up and watch TV. Hotel serves a delicious breakfast. With good selection of food. You can also get food at the bar. It is within walking distance to downtown Chicago about 10 to 15 mins. Reception staff are very friendly and helpful.
The location is perfect. Ideal to discover Millennium park, to do shopping on Magnificent Mile or a boat tour on the river. The room was really large and very clean, although the view was not special (overlooking the street/entry of the hotel). The concierge was super nice and professional and recommended a restaurant for my only night in Chicago that was absolutely awesome!
OMG I loved this hotel. The stay was very good and hotel was clean and beautiful. The receptionist and hotel staffs were very kind and helpful. I would like to mention especially on the hotel staff 'Abin' and 'Makrant' who were taking care of us very well. I would highly recommend this hotel in Chicago Downtown.
We stayed at this hotel during COVID-19 with kids and despite it, we felt safe and secure. The rooms are spacious and offer everything one would need. Stuff was helpful and kind. The hotel is in the middle of downtown, close to the train and metro station, and easily accessible to major sights Chicago offers.
The location is amazing. Downtown Chicago. Target and Walgreens around the corner. Several good options. Movie theatre and navy pier in walking distance. Several parking lots (cheaper then $63 a night at the hotel). There are restaurants in the hotel and it’s right on the river walks
This hotel has a great location to get to downtown, Lincoln Park area, Lakeview and more. The decor is boutique unique with great paintings and Chicago history mixed in. The staff is so helpful and friendly. Everything was very clean. The
The interior was great, much nicer than expected. The Hotel is perfectly situated to explore downtown Chicago, just a few steps away from the river and the architecture institute. Breakfast was also available and of really good quality.
. - The best Location in Chicago downtown, Period. One can pretty much walk to drive to wherever from the hotel location, is the best part. - Staff was efficient and friendly. - Met all the met expectation.
South Loop, Chicago
The location is in downtown which i like it The price is cheap but the room just for one person and not enough space to do many things It was near to bus stations which i liked it It's so quiet
Probably one of the only places downtown where I could stay for cheap and still have a decent bed. For what you pay for the place pretty good, I just wished they offered shampoo and conditioner haha.
Hotel was located downtown of Chicago. It was renovated. Room was very clean , beds were comfortable. Service was very good. Highly recommend to stay in this hotel.
Loved the comfort and the location of the hotel. The room was a perfect size and we enjoyed being so close to everything downtown Chicago.
