Downtown Chicago, Magnificent Mile, and Lakeview are popular with other travelers visiting Chicago.
COMPLETELY different from what I expected. Miracle Mile is sparkling clean (ie, not New York), safe, magnificent architecture and sites, great (expensive) food. You can keep Chicago pizza, Chicago Italian meat sandwiches, and Chicago hot dogs. Next visit I will stick to Chicago Beef and Steak, with a daily side of lipitor. Most large American cities are now degenerate cesspools. Chicago to me was an American London ( I was born in New York), and definitely worth returning to . I can't say that about San Francisco, Los Angeles, or New York. Getting around: foot or Uber. Eat: Steak 48 on N Wabash. Favorite spot: ARCHITECTURAL River Cruises and Millennium Park Venues. Avoid the Southside if you want to live and write your own reviews.
There is something for everyone! It is also a good fit for many different budget levels. There are several options for travel including public transportation and services such a uber and lyft. There is a variety of food options. Many hotel locations are close to several different fun activities. Chicago is a great place to visit that you could come to several times and never see or experience everything is has to offer. I highly suggest visiting the Lincoln Park Zoo or catching a Chicago Cubs game.
Beautiful City with lots of places to see and enjoy! This is my 4th time and I haven't seen all. Grand park and Millenium Park are my favorites for walking or strolling. We visit the artisan market which was very nice! We've done a lot of fine dinning and my favorites are; Chez Moi, Marchessa, Le petit Paris, Chez Joel, Le Bouchon, Meli Cafe, RPM Seafood, La Buleria, just to name a few... Transport is excellent! We use the metro, bus, taxi and Huber for dinning out! I haven't came across anything to avoid yet :)
Downtown Chicago...River Drive, Navy Pier....is a real eye candy. Once in a lifetime needs to be visited....BUT....Beware of the various train stations...They are for the most part super filthy and visited by a large amount of mentally challenged people of all kinds. Too bad that the local authorities allow all this filth to be built up in the stations and grant free access to some very interesting individuals.....I have seen the same filth, the same situation in the subway system in Rome, Italy...so sad to see when a city is led by total incompetent people. Just do yourselves a favor....and avoid the various train stations....if you can.....
Everything about Chicago is awesome!! From Riverwalk, to the parks, museums, zoo, Navy Pier!! We did so much in the time of our stay. Great restaurants, jazz clubs and the people are welcoming and the history and culture is second to none!! Chicago is one of my favorite cities in the US.
Chicago in the summer is full of things to see and do outdoors. Wrigley Field offers more than a ballgame. Walk the lakefront - take lunch, a kite and your swim suit, or rent a city bike for the bike path. Walk Millennium Park to the Art Institute, or take an architecture tour of Louis Sullivan beauties. Get on the Metra and go to Oak Park for Frank Lloyd Wright houses, or to Hyde Park for pizza at Medici and the Oriental Institute at University of Chicago. Need air-conditioning? Go bowling or play darts at one of the many social clubs, or visit the Impressionist rooms at the Art Institute. Break up the day with your kids by spending time at the Lincoln Park Zoo and many playgrounds.
Location can't be better, right next to where the river boat tours start, next door to the best roof top bar in Chicago and next to Michigan ave which has all the best shops! There are ice machines and vending machines in the hotel as well as a coffee station on the second floor (I only found that on my second and last day :-( would have been nice to know before). Easy enough to get to and from the airport using the blue line - it cost $3 vs Uber which was around $60-120 depending on the time of day.
Bridgeport, Chicago
Dave and Kevin are two people you should definitely meet. They did their best for us from check in to check out. I felt like I was at home in Chicago, not for a business trip. Whatever we needed, they tried to solve it. Breakfast was the best breakfast I've had in a long time. I chose this hotel by reading the reviews, and I have never regretted it. I want to go to eat again Kevin's wonderful breakfasts! Thanks guys, you are the best!
The bed was comfy. I liked the Serivce front desk made sure I was taking care of !. On Sunday I had went for bunch with my sister and the food was outstanding. The servers did such a great job at Serivce and making sure that my waffles were great. If you are coming into Chicago and don’t want to stay downtown because of traffic and want to pay for a cheap room this is the place to go.!
The hotel offered complimentary open bar during happy hour. I did not eat breakfast there. The room was nice. I have never reserved a suite before and I must say, it was nice. Location was ok. I am not from Chicago and I did know that I wanted to be downtown with a city view. View probably could have been better, but that would have not changed my ratings for this hotel.
The hotel is very convenient for downtown Chicago, just outside the main area of the CTA loop stations but very accessible even with luggage. The room was much less expensive than the Hilton nearby even at the conference rates, and it was pretty quiet even when there was some kind of concert event happening one night.
Great hotel, amazing services, perfect location and amenities. Our room had a great view of the city skyline and the people on the streets. Wonderful place to rest relax and rejuvenate. The Fuji tub was everything we could have ever wanted and more. The peaceful bathroom will make you forget your in downtown Chicago.
Quiet boutique hotel located at the heart of downtown Chicago. It was easy and quick to o walk to shopping on Magnificent Mile, the Navy Pier, Millennial Park, top Chicago dining, and so much more. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and were a nice size.
Centrally located Hotel in downtown Chicago. Modern design and spacious rooms. COVID: they clearly are concerned about Covid and did their best to provide a safe environment. Masks are mandatory, and they have social distancing even for the elevators.
River North, Chicago
Great small hotel downtown yes it has downtown noise but that's part of the experience bed was comfy and is in walking distance to the L so you can go travel the city without driving in Chicago traffic and paying to park
Chicago Loop, Chicago
The location was perfect. Here located at the center of Chicago Loop, so it was easy to many tourist's points. The price was one of the cheapest options at that moment, so I could save some money. Bed linens look clean.
Great hotel. Great location downtown Chicago. Staff friendly and helpful. Room spotless and kitchen great. Freezer great. Fridge great. Breakfast great and evening bonus food great. Wine and beer lovely.
The location of the hotel was good. You were able to walk to restaurants, downtown shops and the Cadillac Theatre. Walked to the hotel from the train station which we took from the airport.
It was the cheapest hotel nearest to downtown. Nothing fancy, just a place to sleep. Close to the river and plenty or restaurants around. Clean room and cheap parking.
Perfect location. Improved Navy Pier. Great tourist attractions nearby. Chance to be back in downtown Chicago. Good breakfasts in the hotel restaurant.
West Loop, Chicago
