FAQs about hotels in Chicago

Our Kind of Town

Standing proud beside Lake Michigan, Chicago is down-to-earth, friendly, and full of culture. It has outdoor art by famous artists including Chagall and Picasso, and there are some fascinating architectural works from the Art Institute of Chicago.

Home to blues and house music, Chicago has an eclectic music scene that reflects its spirit. The Windy City is also a pioneer in a variety of Americanized dishes from it's European immigrant roots like deep-dish pizza and the Chicago hot dog.

The world’s first skyscraper and Ferris wheel were erected in Chicago. The latter, on Navy Pier, is one of the Midwest’s most visited sights. Also famed is the ‘L’ transport system, whose raised trains circle The Loop, the main business district. Check out its skyline reflection in the shiny bean sculpture in huge Millennium Park.

Home of the Bulls and Bears, Chicago is a stronghold of sport and has teams playing baseball, basketball, American football and hockey, to name a few. If you get a chance, try to catch a game.

Chicago Midway and Chicago O’Hare Airport are both on the outskirts of this vast city, so make sure to leave enough time for travel from your Booking.com hotel, apartment or hostel. And all that jazz.

    A wonderful city!

A wonderful city! My second visit and always go to the Art Institute, usually to look at the same art. The architecture is stunning and never fails to give pleasure. Went on an architecture cruise this time and enjoyed it very much. Love the restaurants and bars and just walking the streets - always loosing my way but enjoying new finds. Prefer to NYC. The Loop is great fun and visit Oak Park to visit Frank Lloyd Wright's house. Can also recommend Chinatown for accommodation and a warm welcome.

This is one of the great cities of the world - full of enterprising and competent people from many backgrounds who have at their disposal wonderful museums, restaurants, tours (water and land), and theatrical/music venues. It's a mecca for various cultures and reflects the great ways the citizens of the United States like to conduct their lives. Visitors from other countries or states should take advantage of all it has to offer. See the Chicago Art Museum. Get on a boat to see the city from the Chicago River and Lake Michigan. Read about the architecture - no city in the world has a better mixture, plan a music performance if you like jazz. Attend a play or concert. Walk the Magnificent Mile and get a burger at Billy Goat Tavern! Enjoy this city!

When doing business in Chicago, IL, you watch it real good...

When doing business in Chicago, IL, you watch it real good and pay attention. The prices posted at O'Hare Airport vendors and at least one other store in Chicagoland are not always correct. One vendor at O'Hare Airport did not post all of its prices on its menu. A restaurant in downtown Chicago played games with its surcharge. Transparency would be greater if the restaurant printed a menu with all prices at the correct amount. There is at least one store in Chicagoland that does not post any of its prices. Another store in that town charged me a fee even though I paid with a debit card. I told her that was illegal and she got all innocent on me and said I can't help it because of the machine from the bank. If I had time I would have told her to find a bank that would not trick her into committing illegal acts. I feel sorry for the foreigners who have to contend with this. Prices are not transparent because of junk fees and surcharges. It is not business friendlly when machines that sell subway tickets in Chicago does not give change. Many Chicago businesses seem to be out of date when it comes to technology and paying. Many Chicago vendors use the magnetic strip on the card. Magnetic strip is out of date. Chip is more up to date and safer.

I actually visit Chicago to catch up with some of my friends who study at UChicago and did not really have expectation for the city. After visiting Chicago, I really like the downtown and the water boat architecture tour in the afternoon. The weather somehow nice, although there were a bit of rain. I really like Chicago, I think it is my second favorite city in the US after the NYC!

Location is the best in Chicago. If you are going to the city for visiting, this is the best location. Just in the heart of Chicago loop, in front of the Chicago River, easy walking to the millennium park, magnificent mile, skydeck, river walk, cloud gate, Chicago art institute, grant park and others. It is a historic building, with a beautiful lobby. My room was small, but was clean and cozy and a coffee machine was available. Coffee, milk, sugar supplied free by the hotel . Nice team providing support and service.

OK so upsides; I was travelling for the marathon and didn't want to break the bank. This place was £550 compared to the places downtown which were nearer £2k. Most of the staff are very friendly and the gym is a plus point. I didn't feel unsafe in the hotel itself which is a bonus travelling alone as a woman. It wasn't too far to the CTA train which was only a short ride into downtown Chicago

The room was large and very clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable. Coffee maker was a welcome addition. The bathroom was very modern, clean and had all the ammenities required. The breakfast (additional payment) was excellent with a wide range of food choices. Location of the hotel near to union Station was a deciding issue, but also the hotel is close to the Chicago Downtown.
