This Manchester Center, Vermont inn is minutes from Route 7 and in the Green Mountain National Forest. This completely non-smoking inn has free Wi-Fi in every room. We loved it! We stayed there for a night as part of a ski trip in celebration of our engagement. They upgraded our room because of the ocasion! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Despite Covid, breakfast to-go was excellent. The room was very clean and beautiful. The ski resort was about 25 min drive away. Thank you! Highly recommended!

Small town with interesting shops. A small town with personality! We had dinner at the Chanticleer restaurant! We highly recommend this venue! We also hiked on some recommended trails and found them quite delightful.
The extra charge for the third person was a surprise. Otherwise a great suite and ambience. We were at a wedding at The Old Grey Barn. Otherwise we ate at the inn. Shopping and driving around favorites for three active seniors in their 70's.
One of my favourite places to visit is Kingston Lacey House, and for afternoon tea you can't do better than Pamphill Tea Rooms. Buses are the best way to get around Dorset, but avoid coming back from Swanage through Sandford between 3.45 and 5.30 as the A351 gets really busy and slow moving. West Bay is another favourite place to visit and there is a lovely walk from there to Bridport using the old railway line. Dorset has many lovely scenic walks, and has the best scenery and the sea, but avoid cliff tops and climbing on the cliffs.
Quaint historic town, can do a lot of walking right on the golf course next door, close proximity to Manchester, Barrows House, their sister property is right around the corner- fun spot to go for drinks and apps with fire pit outdoor seating. The Union Store across the street from the Dorset Inn has the most unbelievable scones, cookies and other baked goods- their onion soup is to die for. A new bakery just opened up in June that is a 5 minute walk- can have wine or cappuccino/pizza, etc. The Dorset Playhouse is down the end of the street from the Dorset Inn. On weekends until the end of October, there is a farmer's market that is quite fun down the road at another country store. I highly recommend.
