Wife has always wanted to go to Fredericksburg since a lot of friends have told her about it. Booked the weekend we went for our anniversary. Lots of places to eat.. ate at Auslanders, Hondos on main,Texas Sunrise, had ice cream at Clear river ice cream. Went to a show at RedBox. Nothing disappointed on this trip. Just beware that restrooms are scarce. We Will be back
First time we have ever seen the "key caddie" type of registration. The poor clerk had to walk us through every detail of it and then she started again with the next people behind us. Not my favorite but maybe it works for them??
1. If you like tchotchke stuff, you'll like the shopping. 2. I didn't find the place very "German like". 3. People were very nice. 4. There is a nice park. 5. Clean 6. Good history about the German settlers. 7. I wouldn't recommend to come here. There's not much to do.
If you like to drink then this is the place for you. Everything is pretty walkable or a mile or 2 out. Literally every other business on Main Street is a bar or wine tasting room. The food and restaurants are sub par. Everything's overpriced. This is a quaint, charming, lovely area in Texas Hill country that is super crowded. It is however about a half hour from Enchanted Rock.
It has a nice downtown with lots of different shops to visit. Recommend to visit wild seed farm/winery and dedicate a day to visit enchanted rock going hiking and have a picnic. We enjoyed spending one evening at the city center park. There are some nice museums to visit. Also few miles from Fredericksburg is Hamilton natural pool to visit and enjoy dipping in the natural water.
Fredericksburg is a beautiful old German settlement town in the Texas Hill country. It’s a beautiful little town, and there’s tons of things to do now. For an old timer like me it’s probably been over commercialized but people looking for a vacation with things to do well love the place. If you get outside of the town into the surrounding places there’s lots of farming and ranching still goes on in this area. And if you’re there don’t miss the chance to go drive the Willow City Loop north of town.
Fredericksburg
The location is 10 minutes away from main street Fredericksburg and dozens of wineries. Cabin set back in wooded area off highway was very quiet. Several cabins on property in back of Mendelbaum winery and we stayed in the Almond cabin that has three double beds for 3-6 people. One bed was hard, one bed was soft and one bed was squeaky. Small table with 6 barstools in main room and one small bathroom that had plenty of towels. Key located in realtor lock box on front door.
Fredericksburg
I love love love this place. Beautiful! Peaceful! Close to everything. The owners at the Best. Perfect place to stay if visiting Fredericksburg, been many times this place is awesome. Fredericksburg
My best friend and I spent 4 days here for a girl’s weekend. The location of the hotel was ideal for us. It was close to the main strip of Fredericksburg but far enough away from the hustle and bustle for us to avoid traffic in and out of our room. The rooms themselves were very clean and the beds were super comfortable.
The hotel was awesome, but you Booking.com overbooked us and there was NO rooms available, not impressed with booking.com at all, at check in the lady at the front desk took the time to find us another hotel, so the second night we stayed with them, they are awesome... not sure I’m using booking.com again
Fredericksburg
I prefer staying some place that is not a chain and Hotel Kitsmiller fit the bill. Vintage travel lodge, unique decor. Our room was clean and comfortable with a kitchenette. They're also pet friendly.

Fredericksburg
We liked so much that it’s hard to fit it all in this box! Our hostess was always available and so helpful with recommendations, etc.. We loved the privacy of this location, as well as the facility itself. My twin sister and I stayed in the Sunshine Cabin, which had a comfy bed, and a homey atmosphere. While our two best girl friends stayed in the Northern Cabin, which was lovely and close by us. We all LOVED feeding the animals too! Such a fun experience. Lorenzo, the llama and the donkeys were our constant companions, and it was hilarious to be around them, as well as sweet, Betty the cow. We couldn’t get enough of them. Finally, the food, snacks, and amenities were well thought out and appreciated. We loved having our choice of what to eat in the morning. Our favorite were the sausage and cheese rolls. Delicious! We made great use of the bathrobes too. The property is so private that we were able to wear them while sitting on the porch in the morning, and feeding the animals too. We all agreed that we could not stay anywhere else next time we visit Fredericksburg!
Fredericksburg
absolutely loved this property it was the best one we stayed at our whole trip. Its so unique and peaceful, it’s got stunning surroundings and is just a pleasure to come home to at the end of the day exploring. Fredericksburg is super busy so its nice to come back here.
