Beautiful area. We went for lobster mini season and fishing. I am a Florida native, and found all the rules and regulations prohibitive and confusing. It spoiled the fun. I found myself second guessing myself the whole time. If they want tourism, they should provide maps of where you can lobster and fish instead of vaguely telling you where you can’t. For instance, regs state you can’t take lobster from residential or commercial areas, but I saw people diving under bridges. Nearly all shoreline is residential or commercial. Saw abandoned traps full of lobster that are going to die. They protect the commercial guys, but the recreational hunters who spend thousands and thousands are stifled. Next time I will take my money south of Layton.
Very peaceful and quiet and slow pace. Total island vibe. Many places to eat and shop. Loved Snooks, Mrs. Mac’s has the best key lime pie. Publix grocery store and liquor stores open until 9. John Pennekamp very nice state park. Snorkeling, glass bottom boat, fish, beach. Plenty to do or just do nothing.
Key Largo was beautiful. I was surprised that there are limited beach areas. Several food locations to eat, and they are really good foods served at each. I would avoid going on 4th of July weekend. Crowds and traffic were difficult.
We used to own a house in the Keys so we are familiar with the "kick back" version of holidays. We enjoy Key Largo because it is an easy drive for us from the West coast of Florida where we live. All of the keys have built up so much since we were there but the added tourists mean there is more to do, more restaurants and, Lord deliver us, way more traffic. Go to Key Largo but don't stay at the Holiday Inn.
I love the sunset views in Key Largo they have great restaurants, my favorite being Snappers the food is fresh and absolutely delicious. Key Largo fisheries is also a great place for food, especially for stone crabs when they are in season Oct-May.
The Amoray Dive resort is not a place I'd stay. Double booked my stay as they would not refund room after explaining I'd like a better fit for me. Property is rundown and dirty. Lack of up keep. Other places in area are worth your visit to relax and enjoy. Beautiful sunsets

Bay Harbor Lodge is a true HIDDEN GEM in Key Largo!!! This quiet boutique resort is located directly on the water with it’s very own palm tree right on the beach! The entire premise is absolutely beautifully landscaped with lush trees and plants! The cute permanent “food truck” on the property serves homemade scones every morning. Our favorite flavors were the coconut pecan and pineapple scones! The owner and staff are all absolutely awesome and truly cared about our stay! We will definitely be back!!!!
Key Largo
Sweet spot in Key Largo! Can’t really comment on the walkability of the neighborhood as we used our car to get around but the location felt central enough for the island. We had a two level apartment with a deck overlooking the marina- great spot for coffee or a cocktail. I LOVED the pool- one of the best hotel pools I’ve swam in in a while- decent sized, quiet and open 24/7! The two levels were an added bonus to break up the sleeping area from the TV/kitchen areas. All around a great stay.

Location is pretty good for Key Largo: You can actually walk to a walgreens, a bank, a dive store, convenience stores, a dollar store, and a few other things. It's right on a canal, and next to some boat outings. Room was huge! One of the largest hotel rooms I've ever seen. Full kitchen with full sized fridge & freezer, sink, counter, dishes, silverware, stovetop & stove, microwave. Unfortunately no toaster or toaster oven, though. Price was on the low side for Key Largo.
Key Largo
Hotel was super, great central location, numerous restaurants and bars close by. Room was huge, nicely decorated, full kitchen left amazing impression to come another time and stay much longer. Super friendly and helpful staff, complimentary paddle board or kayaks. Very clean and comfortable beach, a lot of friendly squirrels on the property. Would definitely recommend this amazing place. Will come back, thank you all.
Key Largo
very good hotel, nice location, very nice pool area, good breakfast. The best thing was by far that breakfast was served on real plates, metal cutlery, NO plastic at all. We loved that and appreciate that as a good example of which a lot of other hotels in Florida could learn. Staff was very friendly, especially during check in and the quick clean up of the little sea we had in our room caused by a defrosting fridge.
Key Largo
The Hotel is in a good location to explore the Keys by car. Some chairs and a little table outside but close by were the only chance to get out of a dark room without real windows and without any view. Whereas it was told that there is no housekeeping during the few days of my stay the housekeeping people where super friendly and tried to help where they can.
Key Largo
The location was pretty good. Right next to a few restaurants within walking distance, including one right next to it with a bar. You can grab a drink from their bar and enjoy it on the beach at the hotel. Perfect spot to watch the sunset right on the hotel beach.
Key Largo
terrible hotel for the price!!! Key largo is simply overpriced. We payed over $400 for the room ( same price as Mandrin hotel in Miami) for 1 night. Dirty floors, terrible pillows, tiny shower, no umbrellas by the beach. Just a run down motel. Will not be back
Key Largo
Lovely hotel in Key Largo. Unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy much of the amenities due to our late arrival and early departure but the room was comfortable and the staff were very nice. We also enjoyed the adjoining restaurant. Amazing view!
Hotel is nicely spread out, very secure with pass access only to doors, free cookies in reception with hot drinks & good location to see sunsets. Good selection of restaurants close by with good breakfast offered at the hotel.
Tavernier, Key Largo
The beach near the hotels is very fun and the pool in the middle of Ocean Pointe is very fun to play in with family and friends and other people and also liked the hotel rooms and the bathroom is great.
We had never been to this part of Florida. The hotel was great the room was not what I booked in the photo but it was large and comfy.. There is not much to do in the city unless you do water sports.
Key Largo
Great location for Key Largo and right on the water. Very clean and welcoming room. Easy access to swim and kayaks are also available to use for free. Would recommend!
We stayed in the deluxe ‘room’ which was more like a suite or mini flat and furnished very tastefully and to a high standard. the views from the hotel were gorgeous.
Key Largo
The shower was excellent for such a small room. The facilities suited the casual Key Largo vibe
