The "grand canyon" was beautiful. The flora was beautiful. Too many resorts spoiled the north island to be able to enjoy it. The island was flooded with people and cars which is not what I remember from a maui visit many years ago. I felt sad for the long time residents to have their way of life spoiled by so many of us visitors and condo owners.
THE ROOM AT TIP TOP INN WAS MUSTY & FUNKY! IT WAS JUST DISGUSTING! I HAVE ENCOUNTERED THIS BEFORE! DIRTY, NASTY, DISGUSTING & FUNKY MEN ILLEGALLY ENTERING MY ROOMS! IT SMELLED AS IF DIRTY! NASTY DISGUSTING & FUNKY MEN HAD BEEN IN THAT ROOM RUBBING THEIR DIRTY! NASTY, FUNKY & DISGUSTING BODIES ALL OVER THE SHEETS, BLANKETS & TOWELS etc! THEY ARE SICK, SICKENING, REPUGNANT & DISGUSTING! THEY MAKE ME SICK IN EACH & EVERY WAY! DIRTY! NASTY & DISGUSTING MEN WERE LURKING OUTSIDE OF THE HOTEL & ON THE BALCONY! EXCEPT FOR THAT, THE ISLAND WAS LOVELY! TOO MANY WHITE PEOPLE THERE! WHERE HAVE ALL OF THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDER PEOPLE GONE? THE ISLANDS THAT I VISITED (Maui & Kauai) WERE OVER 95% WHITE! HAVE THE WHITE PEOPLE EXTERMINATED ALL OF THE ORIGINAL, INDIGENOUS, NATIVE PEOPLE JUST AS THEY HAVE ON TASMANIA, WHILE DECREASING THE NUMBER OF THE AFRICAN PEOPLE, NATIVE AMERICAN POPULATION & EVERY OTHER PEOPLE WHOSE COUNTRY, ISLAND THEY HAVE INVADED & TAKEN AWAY FROM IT’S ORIGINAL, NATIVE & INDIGENOUS PEOPLE! LIHUE IS WILD! UNBRIDLED WILDERNESS, ROBUST, BEAUTIFUL BEACHES, LUSH TROPICAL FORESTS, AMAZING TREES, FRESH AIR! I WILL MOST DEFINITELY REVISIT & BUY A HOUSE THERE! SANTANA HAS A HOUSE ON KUAUI AS WELL AS IN LAS VEGAS! B.T.W. LAS VEGAS IS CALLED ‘THE 9th ISLAND’! APPARENTLY! THE WHITE PEOPLE HAVE PUSHED THE INDIGENOUS, NATIVE & ORIGINAL PEOPLE TO NEAR EXTINCTION AND OFF OF THEIR ISLANDS AS WELL! I READ IN ONE ARTICLE THAT ONLY 5000 100% ORIGINAL ISLAND PEOPLE ARE STILL REMAINING ON THE PLANET! THAT IS JUST SO SAD! THAT IS THE REAL TRUE NATURE, REALITY & EVIL OF GLOBAL WHITE SUPREMACY, IMPERIALISM & HEGEMONY etc
I only stayed at the Kauai Inn to be close to the airport for one night. I arrived earlier than check-in, but was quickly checked into my room and my stored luggage was delivered to me. I ordered food for delivery and when the driver had no silverware to give, he must have mentioned it to someone at the desk because next thing you know--I had silverware! The view of the mountain outside my room was amazing! I had a lovely evening and was able to get to the airport on time for my early flight! Thank you, Kauai Inn!!
Easy access to the airport, and close to Poipu and Hanalei. You’ll need to drive a bit for the shopping aread (20 min) and things to do, but the resort is so nice that you can have a great time spending most of your team there too.
Not really a resort, condos for rent. The front desk isn't open all night, unmanned at 8pm. There was only 3 window AC units, no central air in the unit. The AC in the living area only worked 30 minutes and then shut off. We couldn't get it back on and the plug and outlet were inaccessible because there was a plastic lock box put over them preventing any access to them. The AC in the second bedroom didn't work either so we stayed in the master because the AC worked there and everywhere else was too hot. We only stayed one night so it wasn't worth the hassle. We liked that there was a washer and dryer in the unit, they also provided soap for one wash which was nice. Our unit was on the third floor, I didn't see any elevators. So if you have mobility issues just make sure you're staying ground level. Josie was friendly and helpful.
Booking.com should be avoided in any possible way. They have no customer service, just automated canned answers to issues. Booking.com misleads users into thinking they are getting better accommodations (deluxe ocean view) when the destination doesn’t even offer it. Worst is they charge you for the upgrade and when you arrive you find out the kept the extra charges and will not reimburse you for it. You have no recourse.
