I liked that you can ride around the entire island and not die from it being 85 foot hills. All of the people on the island we're friendly. Also every place was accomidating. The food was good but I'm not a huge fan of fudge and there's a lot of it on the island.
Fun trip. Wear good walking shoes and bring plenty of money. Lots to see on the island. The tour was fun (though a little chilly). Touristy- just expect it. Lots of food places and fudge everywhere.
Loved the island! It’s beautiful and feels safe. Loved not having cars there and seeing the horses everywhere. It’s very walkable and bikeable and is a great place to just relax. Definitely want to return!
A great place, no cars, a nice bike ride around the island 8.2 miles but with plenty of places to stop, rest, take pictures etc. plenty if Fudge for you fudge lovers, a great carriage tour that explain the history of the island.
Mackinaw Island is beautiful...flowers, horse drawn carriages, gorgeous homes. Surprisingly good restaurants with reasonable (for a tourist area) prices. (Lunch at the Grand Hotel is definitely worth the splurge.) Biking around the island is definitely the best way to see things, but the horse drawn carriages are nice too. May is the Lilac Festival which is a great time to visit, but the hydrangeas of September are gorgeous too and the room rates are much less. Try to go during the week as the weekends tend to be more crowded and you may have to wait for a ferry. Staying can be expensive but is well worth a night or two.
Quaint and quiet! We loved the views and the friendly people we met from all over! The food was great everywhere! The Pink Pony had the best tomato bisque soup I have ever had! The Angus sliders at Horn’s Gas Light Pub were great! The fudge at JoAnn’s as well as their staff were phenomenal!

Great location, just across from the water so you could have a view. It was also just down from Main Street far enough to avoid the noise but close enough to enjoy the activities. The bathrooms were very clean and the rooms were decorated lovely. The hotel staff was adequately friendly but it was the 3rd party porters/bellhops that made up for it. They were fantastic! Nice & fairly clean but not quite worth the money - will stay somewhere else next time.

My wife and I stayed on a Thursday night in September it was so peaceful and relaxing. We had dinner at the Grill Room we had the Crab Cakes for an appetizer,my wife had the White Fish and I had the Prime rib and we both agreed that it was most likely the best meal we ever had!! I know it was a little off season but the service at both the restaurant and hotel were great!! We would highly recommend the Island House and it’s Grill Room for a stay on Mackinac Island!!

Hotel and staff were great. Nice pool very clean. My only complaint is that for the amount I paid the complimentary breakfast was a an insult. I have had better at Holiday Inn or Hampton Inn. We ended up going down the street to the Chuck Wagon for a real breakfast

The Inn is about a mile out of town. They have a shuttle or you can bike, or walk - we used our bikes. It is great to be out of the crowds and the view from the hotel is amazing. We had a room that faced the lake and Mackinaw Bridge. We loved it!

The hotel is located in the middle of the downtown area which is great for shops and restaurants. Since the island is car-free it was very quiet in the hotel despite the central location. Staff were all extremely nice and helpful.
