This Mountain City, Tennessee hotel features a daily hot breakfast and free property-wide Wi-Fi. Guests can relax in front of the lobby fireplace or explore the Cherokee National Forest 13 miles away.... Allowed my elderly dog Dink to stay on the first floor
Set in Damascus, The Dancing Bear Inn has a shared lounge, garden, terrace, and free WiFi. The inn features family rooms. All guest rooms feature bed linen. Clean comfortable space. The proprietors were pleasant and informative. Perfect location. Would not only recommend but will stay there again.
Seemed quaint and route picturesque. Used to commute to Bristol Speedway for TN-VaTech football game. Warning: Taking 421 was too many switchbacks. Use one of other routes if going to Tri-Cities area.
Thought view of the mountains and everything lush and green was pretty. Not happy with choice of sit down restaurants. None were name brand chain restaurants and the Italian place we ate at offered poor service and poor food.
The mountains were breathtaking. The fact that you can see the North Carolina and Tennessee state line was wonderful. We did not enjoy our stay at Americourt at all. We literally would not take our shoes off because of the stains on the carpet in room 213. The beds had animal hair on them. We thought we were getting a smoke free and pet free environment but we did not! We could smell smoke from cigarettes the entire time. We would recommend Mountain City, TN but would not recommend staying in the city during your visit there. Hope this helps someone else who is not sure about the area!
Scenic views in the middle of the Cherokee National Forest with lots of outdoor activities available including renting a boat, beach, firing range, camping etc but didn't find non-chain restaurants very inviting. I would have liked a brochure of local attractions including restaurants in a brochure in my room for my short trip. But would be happy to come again when there's more time to explore the area.
