I love Marriott Newport Beach bay view the staff and check in is great the restaurant is delicious but my favorite part is the wonderful help I get from Eddie the min I check in he gets my bags gets me ice and anything I ask he’s the reason I keep coming back such a great person and the best service so please ask for him at check in .
Horrible experience, the rooms are old, dirty, and smelly, this is nothing like what they advertise and then they picked up my laundry and later told me it had been stolen in the hallway and they werent responsible, the also refused to release the video camera footage outside my room
If you want to get in shape this is the place. Balboa island, you can walk around the entire island. NEWPORT BEACH has miles of walking trails including back bay. Newport has too many homeless, the Mayor needs to clean that up fast. Great bakery next to Starbucks on PCH, next to wellsfargo.
We enjoyed the hotel location right on the beach, we found the locals to be so friendly and helpful. We felt safe despite being in the middle of the beach area during Halloween weekend. There were some rowdy young people but we were not interrupted by noise or anything. It was a quick walk to Balboa Ferry, and it was a fun side trip to check out the island and get a frozen banana. Mama D’s was a simple restaurant we passed by, turned out to be the best little treasure. Great service.
Our trip to Balboa Island was fun & we loved the Balboa Ferry. Crystal Cove was a beautiful beach we enjoyed our time there very much and the shuttle taking you there is very nice! Fashion Island is a beautiful mall with many dining options!
Location, location, location! This hotel was within walking distance to great restaurants, bars, and shops. We were so happy with how close it was to the beach and the bay! Don't let the pictures of the rooms fool you, they look old in the pictures but were so cute and beached themed, definitely a nice surprise. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Warren at the front desk was fantastic. Will definitely return on our next trip.
The heater didn’t work and it’s winter. The staff tried to fix but it needs a Professional. I was a bit cold. There are fireplaces that don’t work but it’s not on the website so I couldn’t be upset. Overall, it is a nice place and I will visit again. I like that the staff were accommodating and pleasant as they could. It’s a beautiful boutique hotel. Great upgrades have been done to the building. Owner and Grandson are Amazing
Newport Beach
The location and value of the property was was made our trip stellar! We loved spending time on the patio, using the dock to go out on our paddleboards and rode bikes from the house to the beach / bars / restaurants / pier / etc! You can't beat this location or the price! (We brought our own paddleboards and rented bikes - these are not offered through the property).
Newport Beach
The property had an amazing location and the room was very spacious and comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly, particularly a gentleman named David on the front desk who has very helpful with recommendations. They also provided beach towels, body boards and chairs for the beach.
Balboa Bay Resort has officially become one of my top local destinations. My boyfriend & I decided on a mini getaway & our stay was just incredible! Beautiful hotel, great location, luxury stay, etc.
Newport Beach
For a small boutique hotel, the service was exceptional...from front desk to room to breakfast! Love the comfort of pillows, bedding and the shower specialties 🥰
The location is why we selected the property. The hotel itself is very picturesque, somewhat of a Hotel California vibe. The entire staff was second to none.
I love how the room with the balcony feels sooo luxury. Doesn't feel like a hotel. I would never want any room but the one with a balcony.
Newport Beach
Great rooms, lots to do on the property for grown ups as well as kids, in walking distance to Balboa island, super friendly staff

Being a world traveler and seeing many practices firsthand, The Resort at Pelican Hill is akin to the divinity found in architecture imparting peace to the inhabitants within. The architecture is inspired by Andrea Palladio. Such symmetry is evidenced in all the structures adorning this tranquil resort. Upon arrival we learned the resort was SOLD OUT. We were fortunate to have obtained a reservation for this busy holiday weekend. The upgrade was unexpected---thank you---it imparted an 180 degree view of the Pacific Ocean and The North Villas became a sacrosanct home for the next few days. Refrigerator was stocked with "gourmet" necessities. COVID19 measures were in place to safeguard all guests in their observance of physical distancing. Meals (like the resort) were served with care and to the level as expected if we were dining at Andrea or The Pelican Grill. Safety of the guests was of utmost importance as security called to check with registered guest to allow any visitors or acquaintances on the property. Happy dogs on leashes strolled on the property and doggie bags were provided. From Housekeeping to the Dining Service staff, our time here was nothing that even a weary curmudgeon traveler could classify or rate any lower than five stars. Thanks to The Irvine Company and Mr. Bren for making this a pleasantly memorable stay and the impartation of hope---despite COVID19. Upon leaving we collectively had a renewed sense of calm, health and togetherness that we had somehow misplaced during the pandemic. The Resort at Pelican Hill gave us privacy, security and world class dining that we had come to take for granted. Definitely will be returning soon. Personal thanks to GM Gerard, thank you!
