This hostel is in Haleiwa, Hawaii and across the street from Three Tables Beach. This hostel features a kitchen area and cable TV. Such a nice atmosphere and great staff and co residents. Very respectful. It is a hostel and can be a bit cold but they’ll give you blankets. Great location and great experience. You can rent snorkel gear for free at the front desk … would definitely come back
Located on the North Shore, Kalani Hawaii Private Lodging offers accommodations in Pupukea. Banzai Pipeline is 0.7 mi away. Wow, where to start! Staying here was the highlight of my trip. Bernie is so lovely and one of the best hosts you could ask for. The property is extremely well located (even without a car) and is in the middle of paradise. The wifi is strong, the property is very clean and the outdoor shower is a wonderful touch. Could not recommend this place enough.
Located in Haleiwa, a few steps from Ke Iki Beach and a 10-minute walk from Three Tables Beach, Beach Side Studio by Shark's Cove offers free WiFi, a garden and air conditioning. Sort distance to ocean. Owners were very helpful. Made us feel like family. While sitting on beach seen whales off in the distant every day I was there.
There are so many beaches in Pupukea, whether you want to surf, snorkel or swim there is a beach for you! The beaches are beautiful and clean. There aren't too many hikes in the area. The Pillbox hike by the elementary school is beautiful! And it's less than 2 miles from Foodland. Foodland has all that you need to eat, but if you want food that you don't have to make there are several food trucks right next door. (If you want more food and shopping options Haleiwa is only a 15 minute ride away - 15 to 25 minutes on the bus) The North Shore is refreshingly undeveloped and almost everything closes by 9pm. It's quiet and beautiful and the laid-back, easy-going pace is perfect for anyone who just wants to relax and refresh.
We loved the beaches and the location. It was rustic, clean and the people were far friendlier then on Waikiki beach. We never had the time to visit the other islands, but at least the visit to the north shore showed us the real Hawaii
I really like the way the propriety is next to the beach. But that’s not enough. The bedding was clean but smelled wicked. The bathroom was a disaster, it was not inviting and looked patched. So, I think property in general is not adequate. The fire alarm is near the stove, however while you cook something the fire alarm triggers. And household items look old and dirty.
We enjoyed our short stay on the North Shore and really liked being in Pupukea as our home base. We were minutes away from a Foodland, which is also right next to a great food truck park. My fave was the Elephant Truck (Thai). We were about 15 minutes away from Haleiwa town, where we had dinner both nights (at Beach House and Haleiwa Joe's). Sunset Beach and Laniakea were also just minutes away and we also enjoyed a leisurely morning at the Waimea Valley park. We ventured out east to Kualoa Ranch, a popular film site, for half a day and my husband loved the Movies & Ranch Tour.
Pupukea is a great stop, with easy access to a number of beaches further up the north shore. Food trucks are great and give optons for dinner if you dont want to get something from the supermarket to cook. Plenty of beaches within walking distance or a five minute car ride. Snorkel rental is reasonably priced, with good quality equipment and they will show you were best to go for turtles.
No better place for a stay on the North Shore! Maria's communication prior to arriving was great. And Bernie....what a fantastic guy! Great sense of humor and gave us many great tips for best coffee (Sunrise Shack), great food, best spots for boadyboarding, etc. We stayed in a private room with en suite bathroom, very comfy bed - worth the upcharge. Grounds safe and beautiful - the most relaxing stay of our 14 day Hawaii adventure! We will be back!
Everything a light traveler could need for a full Hawaiian vacation.
