Our trip to San Simeon was a perfect little getaway. Hearst Castle was absolutely breathtaking, and we loved seeing the elephant seals nearby. Moonstone Beach is a must- see, and we enjoyed stopping in Morro Bay on the way. Great food, atmosphere, and cute sea otters you can watch while you have lunch.

The building looks a little strange for a hotel, but the rooms are very comfortable. As crazy as it sounds, I really liked the bed covers. They were beautiful. There is a covered walkway, views that overlook the ocean, a foot trail to the cliffs on the beach. Beautiful sunsets. Shutter Windows with windows that open to hear the ocean at night. I stayed the night before at a hotel in Anaheim that didn't even have a coffee maker. Sacrilege! Here, I got some really good coffee. If you care about things like recycling, they include little recycling bins inside. For me, I love that touch of consideration. It was too short, but I will return.

San Simeon is a very small area, only a couple of...

San Simeon is a very small area, only a couple of restaurants, maybe 4 hotels but the area is absolutely beautiful. Hearst Castle is a must! If you love walks along the coastline, this is a nice place to stay. Close by is an Elephant Seal viewing area and that is always fun to see. San Simeon is such a gorgeous place to go to when you’re wanting peace and quiet.

If you like being near the ocean, hiking and or camping San Simeon is a worthy location. San Simeon does not have a night life (No Live entertainment). I would recommend San Simeon to anyone that would like to chill in a artesian environment.

We always stay in San Simeon when coming to the coast.

We always stay in San Simeon when coming to the coast. It’s more relaxed with way less people. We enjoy the quiet less crowded beaches. It’s just a short drive to Morro Bay and Pismo Beach. There are a few restaurants to choose from located right there next to every place to stay. There are 2 very small grocery stores/mini marts to grab a snack or something that you might have forgotten. There really isn’t anywhere to souvenir shop. We enjoy the friendly atmosphere and relaxed vibes in San Simeon.

The room was clean and spacious with a fridge freezer and microwave and coffee machine. The view was lovely from the window over the sea. The staff were very friendly and there was complimentary breakfast, which was nice. They also allowed us to leave our luggage in our room whilst we went on our tour at Hearst Castle which was very helpful and above and beyond what we expected.
