Good equipment, but not helpful staff.

Good equipment, but not helpful staff. Took time to receive an invoice: invoice not available since "the original booking was made through booking.com and we are not entitled to see the pricing". Then nonfunctional printer. Finally, the invoice PDF was promised but never received.

If you're into nature and the ocean, this is a great place to visit. There are numerous surfing spots. This city is also the home of the Hearst Castle, which holds significant historical values. You can also explore the sea wildlife by watching elephant seals.

San Simeon is a great spot for quiet relaxation.

San Simeon is a great spot for quiet relaxation. It's right by the ocean and has several restaurants. It's also just a few minutes drive to Cambria if you want to go for a nice walk on the Moonstone Beach walkway right by the ocean, and then another short drive to Cambria's cute little town.

    The ocean was beautiful.

The ocean was beautiful. It was great seeing the elephant seals, and all their babies, lots and lots of babies everywhere. Every female seem to have a baby was happy to see the her castle from afar could not take my puppies, so I could not go on the tour. Next time I will go on the tour I will find a pet sitter.

San Simeon is just one of those cool places that are not over crowded by people and businesses. Different places to stop and explore along this part of the coastline. Besides having Hearst Castle, you can check out the elephant sea lions area and a lighthouse. Just south of San Simeon you have a quick drive over the Moonstone Beach and another 20 min south you have Morro Bay. I think it is a great place to stay when you don't want to be in one of the bigger beach towns, its a more down to earth place when you want to just be in one of the small cozy towns.

Great staff. Shout out to the reception staff who greeted me (one who had a British father was particularly helpful) and Jazz the maintenance man who fixed my tv, and was always cheerful and ready to have a chat when I bumped into him. The staff make this place (plus the beach next to the hotel).

Breakfast is included for all guests. There is a pool and hot tub and a gas fire table near the pool. There is a restaurant on site but it is pricey, as are all the restaurants in San Simeon.
