United StatesWe arrived much later than anticipated, at 6:45 pm, just fifteen minutes before check-in closed. We awoke the innkeepers, a couple who apparently lives there, to check in. They were very gracious despite our late/early arrival and told us we could stay after checkout at 10am to sleep in, which we did as we needed the rest. Recommended purely based on our experience with the innkeepers.

Room was dirty, dusty .Had not been vacuumed.
Room was dirty, dusty .Had not been vacuumed. I picked up trash on floor...A penny, A cigarette ( in non smoking room.)4 beer bottle caps and misc. trash. I did not pick up pubic hair on bathroom floor!!!
Only could get 1 TV channel. Looked like they advertised 40 + channels.
Bed was comfortable. Breakfast could be improved. Only had 1/2 roll of TP.

Liked the Hotel...did NOT like being overcharged by booking...had a booking date issue with booking.com General Manager got them on the phone and said her rate would be the same...booking wanted more money. Gen. MGR told booking.com in front of me a rate...and booking.com hit my card for more money. Even after I spoke with them...associate argued that the higher rate was correct...Gen. Mgr then took MY phone and told them IT Was NOT...still charged more money...I'll never use booking.com again

The hotel was clean and quiet even though there seemed to be a full house with some young children. The mattress and especially pillows were comfortable. Pillows appeared to be stuffed with real cotton not the synthetic material.
Breakfast was very simple with coffee, cereals, yogurt and muffins. The food (example French toasts) was individually wrapped which is thoughtful in the time of Covid and RSV.

We've stayed here many times over the years, great old school back up to your door motel.
Tuscola is an amazing train town, the reason we come here, bonus there's a cool bar right down the main street you can walk to & beyond that a 10-15 minute walk to downtown area closer then the other hotels
