The location was great for getting in to NYC the rooms were large and clean and the pool was a added bonus and the staff were warm and friendly parking was ample and overall it was a great place to stay
Great friendly suburban community, big on family activities and sports. Good location to stay when exploring the northern regions of NJ. North west to more rural areas and east 45 minutes to NYC. Visited Laurelwood Arboretum for some quiet time not too far from Hilton. Enjoyed a great breakfast at the Park Wayne Diner.
Wayne was good but Ramada ‘s experience was very bad. Room was supposed to be ready by 3:0 pm. They made me wait in the line for 45 minutes and told me that my room won’t be ready for couple more hours. I was tired with the journey and the attitude of the receptionist was so rude. I had to cancel my reservation. He told me that I will get full refund but never received anything till date. Not only I lost my accommodation but also money. Poor service
RUN! DON’T WALK AWAY FROM THIS MESS!! I was totally disappointed in my stay and angry I was not made aware of renovations going on! · NO POOL! NO GYM! The room was falling apart. Electric stopped working during the night so no A/C Or Fridge. Smoke detector. Beeping at night. Faucet in bathroom was broken. Curtains hanging off the track. Light switch in bathroom. I had to play with it for lights to stay on. Bugs/ inside bathroom light globe. One bedroom light didn’t work. Room safe didn’t work and staff said they couldn’t fix it and wouldn’t recommend using it anyway. Staff actually seemed as tired as the room furnishings. They really didn’t care that my room was falling apart. I can’t believe that Ramada and Wyndham allow their names to be associated with this disaster.
I grew up in Wayne, so I am biased. Must have a car to get around. There are NJ transit busses & trains if you want to go into the city but don't want to drive -- give or take 40 min by mass transit. It is a great starting point to wherever you want to go since it is quick to many highways (95, 80, turnpike, parkway, 23, 46, 21, etc). Lots of shopping, if you have a car, both in Wayne or 30 min, give or take, in any direction. No real downtown main street to stroll but near just about every type of cuisine one could want. Also is not far to pretty lakes & trails. The Pompton Queen Diner is always open and always good.
I loved the location. We were there to visit Montclair University, which is spectacular and close. It's close to the Newark airport. It's also super close to New York. We took public transit into New York (Bus Ride Share was super close near mall nearby). It only took us 20 minutes on a bus to get into the heart of New York City, which was incredible. Port Authority Transit drops you right off near 42nd street and 8th. We walked to Times Square and to the Pier 83 for a boat cruise with Circleline Cruises to see the landmarks of NYC such as the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, etc. The mall is nearby (Macy's, etc.). Walking is doable, but challenging with the highway. We walked around on a frontage road. The AMC Theater is close by, as well. We enjoyed the movie Aladdin. We also enjoyed eating at Bahama Breeze, Olive Garden, and Dave & Busters. The downside, was that the Ramada is rundown. It needs lots of updates to the rooms and facility. The pool was out of order and there was no jacuzzi. Most of the staff was pleasant and helpful, though. With modernizing and updates (cleaning, repairs to roof, bathrooms, etc.), it would be wonderful.
Releasable price, close to where we needed to be, a teriffic restaurant right next door, Izumi Hitachi and it's minutes away from a mall, if that's what you're into. Cleaniness is a problem, though.
