United StatesI have been staying at Colonial Williamsburg Colonial Houses every time I come to Williamsburg for many, many years. First, one comes to Williamsburg to learn and experience Colonial American Culture before and after the Declaration of Independence. NOTHING is better than being in a property which is part of the historic property -- I am next door to a tavern dining area, I can see the Capital Building -- where the legistlative body of Virginia met before and after the Revolutionary War, from my front door, I feel I am a part of history. Also, I can walk to all of the Colonial attractions and return back to my Colonial House for lunch and a rest.

We enjoy staying in some of the original restorations. You get to experience what colonial life was like. All of the places we have stayed in are adjacent to the restored area, so you just step out your front door and you are there!

Only complaint about Williamsburg itself was that many things appeared to be closed or the people running them were elsewhere. It looked like they were planning to open things "tomorrow" rather than today. Maybe they were short handed. It takes a lot of walking and learning the bus route around town is important for older people or anyone handicapped. We had always wanted to go and would definitely go back now that we better know what to expect.

Williamsburg was absolutely a wonderful experience! It was clean, user-friendly, and, more importantly, loaded with history!
If you are looking for a destination that combines history, entertainment, beautiful surroundings, and plenty to see and do, I highly recommend putting Williamsburg on your travel list. It is a trip that is truly worth the time and effort.
Colonial Williamsburg was definitely worth spending several hours exploring, and ending the day with a ghost walk was the perfect way to experience the history of the area from a completely different perspective.
There is so much to see and do in the surrounding area as well. I highly recommend heading over to Yorktown and making your way to Richmond. Jamestown is also worth visiting if you enjoy reading and learning about the past. For our group, however, it lacked some of the visual experiences we were looking for.
Overall, I would absolutely recommend Williamsburg for a getaway. Give yourself several days, take your time, and explore the surrounding area. There is history around every corner, plenty of activities, and something for everyone. This is one destination I would definitely travel back to!
Add the Presidents Heads if they are available that was the highlight of our trip!

Williamsburg is a wonderful destination and remains one of our favorite places to visit. During this trip, however, we wished there had been more period actors and additional historical activities taking place throughout the day. It also took some time to locate the ticketing building, as its placement wasn’t clearly indicated on the map. Once we found it, the staff were exceptionally kind, helpful, and well‑informed about Colonial Williamsburg and the surrounding attractions.

It was a very easy check in and out process and our room was spacious for the 4 of us. The location worked out great for us as well. The kids loved the pool area and the activities that were offered. I wish we could have stayed a bit longer!
The only cons were that the guests above our room were running and jumping around until well after 1am. It was extremely loud and hard to sleep. The other thing was the shower in one of the bedrooms was very slippery. I’m not sure if it was the cleaning supplies that were used or if it’s slimy from not being cleaned. It didn’t look dirty but it was very hard to get in and out of the shower.
Overall we would stay again!

Great.
Great. Saturday was market day and there were many tents with everything imaginable. Love the history.
Only problem was the brick and cobblestone walks. As an older lady, balance was a problem. Of course, that is part of the history, so next time I will take a cane. Note to older folks visiting. If balance is a problem bring a cane.

What a lovely surprise to arrive at this location, in the beautiful woods just at the entrance to Colonial Williamsburg. It's a big family hotel, lots of amenities, friendly staff and just a perfect location for visiting the colonial town (accessible by foot via a foot bridge - even just to take a walk without a ticket).

This was our second stay at this hotel. Great location, comfortable room, indoor pool, and buffet breakfast. The breakfast has improved since our last visit — more variety and tastier options. We’re very happy with our choice and would definitely stay here again

Basically, the hotel delivers what it promises. Indoor and outdoor pool (clean), decent breakfast, spacious room. AC is good, but windows cannot be opened.
