Be flexible. Make plans for dinner early in the day, as web-based information for restaurants is not always correct. Many places have either closed or have limited hours or staff. The roads of St Croix are not predictable. Drive slow and be aware of potholes or severe problems with roads. The people of St Croix are friendly, and try their best to be accommodating, but sometimes they can't do what you were expecting. It's a beautiful island and the weather is lovely.
Extremely clean and rich in history!! Residents are genuinely kind and helpful - don't be surprised if you are walking along and someone stops to offer you are ride! The boardwalk was a favourite haunt due to the hub of activity (i.e Tours et al.,) as bounded by restaurants and stores on one side along with entertainment and the beautiful sea on the other. Water is so clear that one can actually see varied sea life of all sizes, shapes and colours. I would also suggest visiting Gallows Bay which is where I enjoyed chatting with the locals. Galangal is definitely must for dining!! Took a combination of over 600 pictures and video but could not decide which ones to upload. The bottom line is that one needs to visit.
Downtown area is very small. Everything closes at 8pm after that is like ghost town. Beaches are beautiful, come here if you are looking to spend your days in amazing beaches and don’t care about night life.
Quite scenic and situated well with several beaches and ocean accessibility. Downtown shops and restaurants have local ambiance and hospitable service; Loved the greenery -- mountains and local people very friendly and helpful.
This side of the island is very calm you need a car to enjoy more activities. All the historic sites and different cuisines are at minimum of thirty minutes away. Another disappointment was our canceled tour by Buck when all the other companies still went out.
Christiansted is a charming town; though a bit old and neglected. The local people were very nice and welcoming. The local food scene is much better than the restaurants on the boardwalk; the quality of the food was not worth the prices. Check out Salty Beetchez for breakfast, we had a seafood lunch at Kim's Cafe and a Latin dinner at Zeny's.
Christiansted
The location was excellent and easily walkable to shops and restaurants in downtown Christianstead. The A/C in each of the bedrooms worked very well. It was kind of cool to hear the outdoor yoga session on the porch adjacent to the kitchen in the morning. Our host was very responsive to our questions and kindly accommodating when our travel plans changed.
The best part of the stay was Natalie, the hostess during my stay- helpful, cheerful, and present. The location was really great- especially for the price. A five minute walk to Christiansted and all of its amenities. The short walk comes in handy when it’s time to meet your charter boat (check out Bucks Island) or after a few painkillers or rum punch!
.The location was perfect. I loved the quaint, boutique hotel atmosphere. It's just beautiful! The ladies at the front desk were so friendly, especially Lanelle. Such a delight and made us feel so welcome. That made our stay that much better! I'll be back!
Excellent breakfast made to order each morning with friendly and courteous staff. The facilities were newly painted and beds were clean. Location is about 20 minutes from Christiansted, 40 minutes from Fredericksted and a short distance from Canebay beach.
Christiansted
The location was beautiful, private and quiet. It was our first trip without our deceased son. We honored his birthday while in St. Croix. The staff and accommodations at The Buccaneer were amazing.
Christiansted

The location was right by the boardwalk. The hotel had a nice restaurant.
The hotel breakfast restaurant was closed for most of our stay
