Everything! We’ve been travelling nonstop for 3.5+ years so we’ve stayed in our fair share of places! Sam, Mike and Lena are SO AMAZING! Their hospitality is above and beyond what we normally experience around the world! 🌍 You can see AND HEAR the volcano from your room, an unreal experience! Highly recommend staying with them! Homestay with the locals of the island. Very basic accomodation but decent. No mosquito nets, so bring your own with you. The family serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with what their land produces, so bring your own groceries if you have specific needs. No restaurants, farmacies or ATMs around. This is a great place if one would like to live along the Tanna village people for a few days. Very friendly family!

The hospitality of Philip, Susan and their sons was absolutely incredible. They were so gracious with their time without being over bearing on your privacy. This is the spot to stay when checking out the volcano side of Tanna. You will have everything you need to see the vanuatu culture from the perfect location. For reasonable rates, the hosts will take care of any other logistic you need. -Set up the 2 hour car ride to and from the airport. -Local recipe dinners by Susan and she’s a great cook. I believe they offered lunch as well but I was going on these great adventures they offer to guide you through: -A local village that will show you dances and rituals of their indigenous culture -A hot spring heated river that flows into the ocean overlooking the volcano -And of course, the hike to the rim of the volcano. I had so much time to chat with the family and they are all so kind. I don’t leave reviews, I was very compelled on this one. Stay in this treehouse. Friendly reminder to grab cash and break it down in Port Vila or at the market in Tanna.

The property owners are wonderful. They arranged airport transfers and tours of the local attractions. They provided excellent meals and were wonderful hosts. The location is remote, but the stay included a delicious breakfast, and lunch/dinner were available. The rooms had a great view.

Rockwater Resort is an absolute diamond find! The attention to detail in everything from the guest interactions, the room, the food and the resort itself. I spent three days in this gorgeous place, not only doing the Tanna Island top sights (Mt Yasur volcano, Blue Cave, traditional village tour and the Giant Banyan tree), but simply spending time around the resort by the pool with a book or snorkelling off the front cliffs. Silvana and John are absolutely beautiful hosts with their care and attention for the experience of your own and other guests with the island and Vanuatu as a whole.
