The cabin was great. It si very basic as it is very remote, but it’s exactly the type of experience we wanted. And we had direct view of the volcano! Be aware that there is no hot water, no charging ports in the cabin, and only one solar light in it. Our host was great in helping us plan everything for our time in Tanna. And the meals were delicious!

Just wow!, Charlie & Phillip with their families are the most wonderful hosts, it is basic accommodation, but the service and attentiveness from the full family is far from basic, I was instantly made to feel like family. Upon arrival Phillip got us all fresh coconut which was lovely, each day they asked all guests what tours they would like to do and arranged, with their young sons often being our tour guides which was wonderful. If you are lucky enough to be visiting when there is a family ceremony you may be lucky enough to be invited along, which is an absolute privilege to attend, every meal was cooked by the family and was always delicious. I highly recommend doing the sunrise volcano tour absolutely incredible. This is basic living so be prepared for that, but that is what you are there for! if you are able to take over school supplies they will greatly appreciate it as the local school is funded by the families

The hospitality of Philip, Susan and their sons was absolutely incredible. They were so gracious with their time without being over bearing on your privacy. This is the spot to stay when checking out the volcano side of Tanna. You will have everything you need to see the vanuatu culture from the perfect location. For reasonable rates, the hosts will take care of any other logistic you need. -Set up the 2 hour car ride to and from the airport. -Local recipe dinners by Susan and she’s a great cook. I believe they offered lunch as well but I was going on these great adventures they offer to guide you through: -A local village that will show you dances and rituals of their indigenous culture -A hot spring heated river that flows into the ocean overlooking the volcano -And of course, the hike to the rim of the volcano. I had so much time to chat with the family and they are all so kind. I don’t leave reviews, I was very compelled on this one. Stay in this treehouse. Friendly reminder to grab cash and break it down in Port Vila or at the market in Tanna.

These is a good opportunity to live like the locals in that area. These kind of experiences are not for everyone but I enjoy doing it. Is basic but clean and have the stuff most of all need.
