Cottages in Valença

This is pure bliss. The most beutiful house we got to stay in of our camino and the host was genuinely friendly. The kitchen was stacked so you could buy bears and water etc for very little. This place could also be a very luxurious hotel, so to stay here for the price of an albuerge is amazing.

Was perfect, relaxing, slept well.

Wonderful host, attentive and friendly and views of the location and the pool is just heaven after a long day of walking the Camino.

For us it was a Paradise, very clean which it did impressed us. The swimming pool was very clean. We access to the leaving room, to the kitchen, to the laundry, to the huge garden of the Villa. Is a peaceful and magical Villa. We love it so much. The owners are so kind, they let us take some lemons from the lemon tree in the villa. Every room has a TV even for the kids. The property was absolutely perfect for our needs. We arrived by car with our touring bikes and needed a place with parking, close to the train station. We were able to sort out our bikes and luggage the night before we caught the train south.

The villa was very clean with all the amenities you could ask for, it was cool plus it had A/C biggest bonus by far and not advertised if I remeber rightly ALL windows had full insect screens on, so you can actually have the windows open instead of running A/C which pulls cooler air through with the worry of flying things biting/stinging you at night a real bonus indeed, there is even a double garage for your use to put your car in which again was excellent considering the high temps we were getting up there, the owners are on site living but you don't actually see them hardly, apart form early evening feeding the chickens, it is a very nice peaceful place to stay, I believe it is quite hard to find some say, no problem all you need once you have the address is a phone and another device next to each other, phone on the map location with the property and "other" device on G/maps match them, then drop a pin on G/maps outside the front gate, this gives you co-ordinates, brilliant pop them into sat nav and it will take you directly to their front gate, do not drop on the property you will not get the co-ordinates then, I use this method for every drive to villa and it works EVERYTIME no mater how rural you go. Location wise. in a car 13 mins to Valenca, really nice fortress to visit entrance is free you take your car up to it and park inside it, bit tight getting in but worth it, you have 4 supermarkets there (not in the fort) Pingo, Lidl, Continete & Intermarche. Turn left on the main road as you leave villa and you will go to Moncao another fort type town, easy drive 15 mins you also have a Lidl and a very good Continente there.

Miguel is a lovely guy. He's very helpful but also leaves you to it. If we needed anything we could ask. He advised us of nice restaurants and events in the area. He also brought us some fresh figs from his trees.The dogs are really friendly and the property is beautiful. The surrounding area is also beautiful, so great views. The pool was nice. The horses were also lovely. It is best to have a car to stay here but if you do there is plenty of nice places to travel to.
