Lions Place is in the middle of a game preserve, so it is remote, but that is essential to its charm. You are in the middle of the habitat of African wildlife. Nevertheless, JB has managed to create a really high-end lodge. The building is lovely, the rooms are very comfortable, and the meals are exceptional. We went on four safaris and they were magical.

Me and my wife had an amazing stay here. We were impressed by the beautiful surroundings and the peaceful atmosphere.
The villa itself is really spacious, beautiful stylish, and impeccably clean, offering everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay.
The views were absolutely breathtaking, overlooking mountains—perfect for enjoying a morning coffee, breakfast or a glass of wine in the evening.
The location is great, providing escape while still being close to the heart of Franschhoek.
The staff is warm, attentive, and always ready to assist with any request, making sure everything was perfect. Special thanks to Esme!
Overall, I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a luxurious, tranquil, and memorable getaway in Franschhoek.
We loved it so much that we decided to go back to it for our last night in South Africa!

Driving all the way from Skukuza through Kruger into the heart of Timbavati, Motswari exceeded every expectation. The lodge is stunning and set in a truly breathtaking location, but what really makes this place special is the staff. Rudolf and his team went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable.
