Situated within a private forest and boasting outdoor hot springs and award-winning cuisine, Sierra Resort Hakuba is a 10-minute drive from JR Hakuba Train Station. Staff were wonderful, always polite and always ready to help. Despite the location being a little out of the way, the resort does run an internal shuttle bus that is super convenient.

Located in a forest, Tokonamiso offers a nature retreat with Japanese-style rooms, barbecue facilities and free WiFi access in the lobby area. Feels like “the real Japan” I enjoyed sitting by the “window” enjoying a beer for at least an hour. The bird song made it idyllic. The clothing and getup is also nice and proper. It has an onsen that is next level, also with an outdoor area that feels really special.
