If you’re considering a stay in Kyoto, stop thinking and start booking—Ryokan Kanade is the place to be! The staff? Sugoi. The atmosphere? Even more sugoi. Every detail feels like it was crafted with care, kindness, and the spirit of omotenashi.
I only wish they could help me find a lovely Japanese lady to marry so I could stay in Kyoto forever, but I suppose that’s the one service not included! 😉

EVERYTHING IS PERFECT!
Size of apartment good, facilities good, location is excellent we had buses and trains that took us to every part easily. Staff very kind. I would book again without hesitation.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the owner. I booked a bed in a female dormitory, but during check in the owner said that he would like to give me a free upgrade. I was given a private room with a bathroom. The bed was very comfortable, there was a tatami on the floor and I could relax every day with a cup of tea on my own. Although the hotel isn't located in the city centre, you can reach most places by either walking or taking a bus. The bus stop is right next to the hotel door. On the other hand, it's very close to the Philosopher's Path.

We loved everything about it! The comfortable rooms, beautiful views, lovely yukatas and amazing food (we had both breakfast and dinner) were some highlights. Our hosts were kind and friendly, and we loved the ability to take out the free bikes and explore Ohara! The view of the valley at sunrise is fantastic. We would love to come back to Kyoto and stay at Ryoso Chatani again.

The apartment is amazing!! An amazing shower room with all supplies, bathrobes. Super comfortable bed and duvets. A small laundry room where clothes dry in minutes.
The staff was very helpful and communicative.

Tadashi and Yuki were extremely attentive, gentle, and patient. The room was very clean, and the nearby temple was an incredible surprise that truly amazed me. It’s a pity that we only stayed for one night, but the experience was wonderful. Highly recommended.
