Guests at HI Lake Louise Alpine Centre can relax in the common room with a fireplace. A small library is available for guests to choose from. I loved the location and the friendliness of the staff and guests alike! The Peyto cafe attached to the hostel was wonderful and really good value.

The location of the hostel is exceptional: very secluded in the woods, on a fairly steep slope of SW exposure, lots of sunshine day time (even in winter :-), beautiful view from the deck towards Three Sisters. Main lodge and the cabins are built in classic alpine style. The place is far enough from the hwy not to hear it but close enough to downtown Canmore (5 min or so). The interior of the main lodge is very cozy and stylish (wood), too; the common use rooms are nicely decorated, etc. The staff is very welcoming and helpful.
