We were mostly served by Ruth and Kevin and they were incredible. It’s evident that everyone cares about their job and the experience of their visitors. We spent one night in a cabin and another in a hammock; both experiences were lovely and memorable. We took a moto taxi from Calabazo to the point where the descent starts and hiked down the mountain in 1h30min. This hike and place set us off onto a trip we will never forget.

Also they have a vegan breakfast option and different vegan lunch/dinner options🙏🏻 The place is located AT a nice beach, and with a taxi you are within 15 minutes in Santa Marta, if you want to discover the city or have dinner there.

Awesome location to go diving or to get to tayron park, it's right in the historical centre of Santa Marta. The hotel was exceptionally clean, the staff did everything to accommodate our needs. Calma Chicha is set on the beachfront in Santa Marta, a few steps from Guachaca Beach and 42 km from Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino. Located around 46 km from Santa Marta Gold Museum, the hostel with free WiFi is also 46 km away from Santa Marta Cathedral. Certain units at the property feature a balcony with a mountain view. You can't beat the location if you want to sleep on the beach or need to unplug. It's a small fishing/surfing village, with a touristic twist. The waves are quite intense so swimming may or may not be a good idea depending on the waves. We enjoyed watching the fisherman putting the boats in the water in the morning, the whole community comes to help. Don't expect a 5 star hotel with all the amenities, this isn't it. It's a wonderful little spot on a beautiful beach. The internet works. It's accessible by bus and a half a mile walk (or moto ride). It's also a short bus ride to the entrance of Tayrona Park. We absolutely loved sleeping with the sound of the waves.
