There are alot of places to stay around the world, and most of them are in it for the money - but not this one. I had no real desire to go to Las Tunas, but after backpacking around Ecuador and Peru for a while, all of the favorite people I met on the road seemed to have the exact same recommendation: Go to Onda Hostel. So I texted the hostel owners on Whatsapp, where they proceeded to be somehow genuinely interested in answering my millions of questions over text before I arrived, arranging for transport, and even picking me up a massive guanabana just because I casually mentioned once I'd like to try it. The beds are comfortable, the A/C is cool, and the coffee is endless, but it's truly the people that make this place great. The owners are passionate about building a community and they instill that same stoke in their volunteers. If you're looking to stay in a place with some atmosphere, there is none greater in the Americas. I booked at this hostel for two days and stayed on for weeks, only leaving because I had to. To my new friends that I've made at Las Tunas - Thank you, and I'll be back soon!

We had to leave him while whle watching and let them know. They had someone walk the dog and make sure it had food and water. our dog has seperation anxiety and started barking. The staff took him to the lobby to keep him company and all of them played with him while keeping other guest from being annoyed.

Hostal Rutamar is amazing, it's perfect to relax and enjoy Canoa, friendly staff. The kitchen is well furnished, we cooked almost all our meals. You can rent surf boards for a very good price, unfortunalty it's not flexible (4hours only) so we had to go somewhere else.

Very spacious property with multiple private cabins and some dorm-type rooms. I stayed in Cabin #5, which is closest to the ocean and had queen bed with ceiling fan, mosquito net, private bath, and balcony. There’s a large central house with dining and kitchen areas, and upstairs space for yoga, including also hammocks and ocean view. The ocean is directly in front of the property, accessible through a private gate. The beach is very long, over 6km, and you can walk to the next town or to one of several local restaurants with excellent seafood. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Proprietor offers bird watching tours at a local conservatory and also whale watching trips from the neighboring town. The property is very clean with many colorful plants and native trees. The covered rear entry has a guest kitchen, with seating and dining areas.

Hosts are super nice. They help you with everything. You feel directly at home. 😊 Best fresh fruit juces and Piña colada! Very nice beach with the possibility to see baby turtels finding their way to the see. Best surfspot around: San Mateo. 🏄🏽‍♂️🏄‍♀️
