Zzz Malang is hands down the best budget-friendly hostel in town. The dorm room was spacious and had good ventilation. The bunk beds were comfortable, and each bed had its own power socket and towel. The bathrooms were spotless and fully stocked with essentials. The hostel is in a quiet area, but a 10-minute Grab ride takes you to the train station. Lila was very welcoming and helped me book transport to Yogyakarta. Highly recommended for backpackers looking for comfort without breaking the bank!

The price was very good, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We met a lot of interesting people while we were there, and there’s a really nice local community vibe. The location is excellent — close to lots of shops and restaurants that stay open late. Most of all, the room was impeccable: beautiful Javanese design, lovely wooden doors, and the air-conditioning worked perfectly, which was a big plus. I can’t recommend this stay highly enough.
