We were surprised by how affordable this place was given the quality. The interior is modern with a touch of Javanese style, and the common areas are spacious with plenty of seating. The staff sent us recommendations for food and activities around Banyuwangi before we arrived, which was really helpful. It's just a short Grab ride to the port!

Spent one night there before the 3 day excursion to bromo/Ijen that they organize (most guests seemed to do the same sort of thing). The facilities seemed quite good and clean. The tours they organize are great and the staff very helpful

Everything was almost perfect. The staff was helpful, the room was comfy, and the common areas were great. The only small issue was the hot water—it’s only available in the shared bathroom, not in the private rooms. But given the warm weather, it wasn’t a big deal.

A lovely, comfortable, and quiet hostel close to busy and interesting parts of Yogyakarta. I appreciated the coffee, water dispenser, washing machine, comfortable places to sit. The rooftop was really nice — you can see a nearby volcano when it’s clear!

This was the best hostel I've ever done! The beds are so comfortable and there are plenty of bathroom/toilets. Moktar was the best host and so attentive to every person in the hostel. He is not only friendly but will really go out of his way to help you have the best experience. From recommending the best places to go to, to actually going out with us (to watch the sunset for example). He truly treated everyone with the warmth of a family member. I was sick for a few days, and he checked up on me and even made sure I had hot food to eat. He would even drive us to some events/restaurants. The time I've spent there was so lovely I extended for multiple days. I really thank Moktar for having the true spirit of a host! The location was perfect for me. The facilities were simple but clean. It's great value for the price you pay! The host has so many great recommendations of activities and places to check out that you'd really want to keep extending (between batik classes to hikes or sightseeing). Additionally, the vibes with all the other guests were super nice. Everyone was so friendly, respectful, and had positive vibes!

Pleasant services by the staff are given during my stay in this communal site where i met various tourist preferences from all over the world as one story that i can't ever forget. Really enjoyed to stay here, much home appliance are applicable therefore i could save my savings to do more activities in Yogyakarta. The staff always clean every spot and corner of this hotel so that i felt comfortable to stay here. If i had more time i would make my stay longer. Thank you Gorga Hostel!
