I had a great experience staying here. The host is a really chill, down-to-earth guy who genuinely cares about his guests. He was very accommodating to my situation and made sure I was comfortable throughout my stay. The room was clean, spacious, and a great place to relax after a long day. At first, I wasn’t planning to do the trekking because it was a bit out of my budget, and we initially disagreed on the price. But despite that, he went as far as to let me set up my tent on his property for free to ensure my safety, which really showed his kindness and hospitality. One important thing to note—before booking, make sure you can afford the trekking with him. He’s very passionate about it, and there could be some misunderstandings if you stay without booking a trek. But overall, if you’re looking for a welcoming place with a great host and a solid trekking experience, this is a great choice!

I had a fantastic stay at Salty Dog Hostel- my only regret was I couldn't stay longer!. Arif, Axel and the whole family create a really nice family vibe in the hostel and will always go out of their way to make sure you get the most from your stay on this beautiful island. The dorm I stayed in was basic, but had everything you needed- privacy curtain , Aircon and an attached bathroom. The hostel hires out both scooters and surfboards for cheap ( even more so if you take over a week ) and is only a 20 min drive away from the best surfing spots in the South. The location was perfect for a quiet, relaxed stay. Beautiful sunset location. James tailored all of the activities, including car ride to the south, surf lessons and boat trip (including mangrove and 3 sisters) to our wants and needs. We stayed 7 nights all together- we extended because we loved it so much. James’ surf lessons were extremely in depth and helped us improve our confidence and ability. The smoothie bowl was delicious! Couldn’t recommend this place more!
