Even though it was a dorm, it turned out no one else was there that night, so it was really quiet. The room itself was super clean—like, really spotless—and everything from the bathroom and shower to the beds, tables, and chairs was well-maintained. The cooler worked great too. The hostel had this really nice garden-like, villa-style atmosphere, which was super charming. Plus, there was a small lake right in front of the hostel that added a really nice view. The only thing to keep in mind is that it’s a bit out in a rural area, so it might feel a bit remote. One important tip: Google Maps tends to show the wrong route near the hostel, leading to kind of a dead end. So when you're getting close, definitely call the hostel owner or manager to guide you through the correct way. In my case, I made a late-night reservation and the young manager was super helpful. He even came out on a motorbike late at night to show my driver the right path. He was really attentive and made sure everything was smooth for my arrival. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this hostel too!

It is a renovated cute house. The family who run it is the best! We felt very welcomed, even Supun invited to his birthday party and we had the best night!! If you come to Tangalle you should stay here!!!

The owner and his family were very kind and treated us like family. When he went shopping, he asked us if we needed anything and bought it for us. In the evening he offered us beer and gave us the opportunity to sit in the garden. They made us a delicious breakfast. Spacious and very clean room that smelled nice. Thank you very much for stay

The food offered was very good! Owner was super nice and helpful if there was any issue or enquiry, very responsive. The place was clean. The balcony overlooking palm trees was so nice!

We loved our stay here! We booked private room, that was our first experience in hostel and we loved it.The hostel is calm, clean, and very relaxing. The staff is so helpful and made our experience even better. Front of beach, so you can see the best sunrise ☀️ Highly recommend!

The host and location were fantastic, situated right by the entrance to Medaketiya Beach with safe swimming area and close to the stunning Mangrove Beach and national parks. The service was unexpectedly excellent, and the breakfast offered a variety of delicious options for the price. Best lassi in this area.

We really enjoyed our stay at Yala Yin Yang Hostel. The place is in very close proximity to the national park so you might be able to spot wildlife right from the terrace or window. Dimuthu, the owner, as well as Seneca, the manager, are incredibly friendly and helpful. Seneca took us for a walk on our first day and showed us a crocodile pond and a nice beach close by. They also helped us organize a really good full day jeep tour through the Nationalpark. The next town is Kirinda which is 10 minutes away by motorbike or scooter. Take your time and enjoy the ride - we spotted monkeys, crocodiles, eagles, water buffaloes and wild elephants close to the road! We booked the 3-bedroom option for three nights, which was clean but simple and had an en-suite bathroom. The design of the building is very open, so be ready to have nature (lizards, insects) being in a room with you from time to time. We did not mind at all but it’s definitely not for everyone. We highly recommend this place for people who want to connect with nature and appreciate the simplicity of this place. We will definitely be back!
