Paul and his family were so so helpful and welcoming. Talked through all of the logistics of the Santa Cruz trek with us, made it incredibly clear and easy to do as a self-guided option. Massively appreciated this as his suggestion was better than what we had read online (combining lake 69 with Santa Cruz over 4 days). Also able to book transport to the start as well. Tasty breakfast included, and really nice terrace overlooking the mountains and rest of the city.

Super helpful and kind staff, helped us with tours - gave good advice. We also got to check out at night for half the price. Accommodating for our vegan diet. An amazing view from the top floor. Close walking distance to Mirador de Rataquenua.

Mariandes Hostel was great! There is everything you need, they have a big kitchen and a rooftop with an amazing view. They have warm water and the wifi is good. The breakfast is included and they bring fresh bread every morning (the best bread I had in Peru so far). The owner Alan is very nice. He always asked if we were ok and if everything was fine. Also he helped me find the best tours for me and even let me stay longer after the check out while I had to wait for my bus. So, all in all, a great experience, I would always come back :)

A very quiet hostel. It offers everything you need, the girls at the reception are really nice and try to help, hikes can be booked also I had a 6 bed dorm for my self for 4 nights.

We had a great stay at Krusty Hostel! The rooms are bright and spacious, great hot shower, rooms get cleaned every day. The breakfast was also nice, something different every day. Kitchen and rooftop terrace. Most of all, the staff was really helpful and flexible, it was no problem checking in early after we arrived with a night bus and checking out late. The owner also runs a travel agency and organizes tours and treks, e.g. to Huayhuash. He was always really helpful and flexible and gave us good recommendations. Would definitely stay here again! It's so quiet and peaceful. A beautiful space. The staff are wonderful and one of them speaks English well. There's a garden with a friendly dog, chickens, budgies and guinea pigs.

Good location, super clean dorm and bathroom, bed was massive and comfy, great breakfast. I be impressed when I saw the biggest climbing wall in a hostel.

The staff, Paul and Mary, were so welcoming and friendly. Paul, a mountaineer, was super helpful with recommendations for hikes and day walks. The bed was comfortable and the internet worked well. Breakfast was great, and the coffee was top-notch and freshly made. Plenty of space to dry out a wet tent or air out sweaty boots. Perfect spot for before or after heading into the hills!

Will and Paola are super welcoming. They can help you organise tours if needed and they even offered to let me have my room until my bus at night. Whilst the hike around Huaraz are amazing they made my stay even more memorable with their hospitality.
