The Maid's Quarters is a fully renovated, 1 bedroom accommodation located separately behind Tanglewood House, a beautiful 1906 Federation home situated in the heart of Sheffield, the town of Murals. Cosy & luxurious, the accommodation is the perfect place for couples to stay when exploring NW Tasmania, within easy walking distance of cafes, shops, pub & restaurants. Continental breakfast provisions are supplied with home-made goodies from locally sourced Tasmanian products where possible. An EV charging station is located nearby near the Visitor Information Centre.
Sheffield is a great base to explore northwestern Tasmania. Here are 2 popular day trips: 1. Cradle Mountain. It's an hours drive away and there are several great walks that can be enjoyed. Walks vary for all abilities from an hour or so to the full 8 hours. 2. Foodie Day! Drive across scenic the Gog Range to Mole Creek. It's about a 30-minute drive. Mole Creek has several caves to explore if that's your thing. The Mole Creek Pub is a great stop for lunch. Further on is tiny Chudleigh (The Village of Roses). Check out Melita Honey Factory for yummy samples! There are a couple of Truffle Farms near Chudleigh (Truffles of Tasmania and The Truffle Farm) as well as a Salmon Farm (21 Degrees South) Further on towards Delorainne (known for its Arts and Crafts) and back onto the Bass Highway heading north there are 4 great stops to choose... > Christmas Hill Raspberry Farm (great coffee and scones) > Van Demien's Land Creamery (Ice cream and Pizza) > Ashgrove Cheese Factory (samples are yummy) > Anvers Chocolate Factory (nothing needs to be said!)
