This former school in the village of Longchamps still resonates with many joyful stories of several generations of children. The owner's mother went to school there almost a century ago. The house has been completely restored and furnished to offer today a comfortable and spacious cottage for 4/5 people If you want to rest for a few days, breathe, enjoy the simple joys of life, this place is for you. As soon as you leave the cottage, in the heart of this typical Ardennes village, you will have access to signposted routes for walks or bike rides. Whatever the season, you will be seduced and enchanted by the soothing sound of the rivers that you will discover during your walks. The region is full of possibilities for outdoor activities: cultural, sports, historical (e.g. on the Battle of the Bulge), museums, folklore, gastronomic, heritage, or even nautical at the Nisramont dam. You can rest or read, and take full advantage of a shaded terrace and a garden particularly dedicated to the escape of the spirit. You can then enjoy a bathroom with bath and shower, common to the 2 bedrooms, as well as a fully equipped kitchen, to eat on site. But if you wish, you can also walk in Bastogne, Houffalize, La Roche, ... to detect, among the many restaurants, the one that will delight you. The cottage, completely autonomous, is located on the 1st and 2nd floors of the owner's house (it does not reside on site when occupied) is not suitable for people with reduced mobility. All my life I have met thousands of people in Wallonia but also in Brussels, Flanders and all over the world. I have discovered very different people, imbued with magnificent multicultural riches with whom, over the years, I have woven an immense network and often built lasting friendly relations or led with them small or large projects towards a better world, more respectful of our planet. Now that I am retired in Bertogne, on the holiday resorts of my childhood and youth, I wish to continue this path with the cottage "l'Ecole de ma mère" by finding its roots and mine. The city of Bastogne, particularly touristic and lively in all seasons, is 10 minutes away. It has several museums, especially on the history of the Battle of the Bulge, as well as a multitude of restaurants. Houffalize or La Roche (with its castle) are 20 minutes away. The same goes for water activities at the Nisramont dam. After 15 minutes, you are in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, with its shops but also its towns or picturesque sites such as Luxembourg's "Little Switzerland", Echternach,... and of course Luxembourg.
