“Casa” meaning country house is located on Beautiful “Slocan Lake” in Silverton BC. The house is large and spacious. It has the original house which was built in 1895. The house was renovated and not much of the original walls etc are exposed. The addition was built in the 1960’s and has the large main room which is now the dance room which has a “Rouge” floor.

Michael has lived in Calgary, Alberta all his life. In the early 1990’s he started coming out to the West Kootenay’s and has come back each summer ever since. He calls this area “God’s Country”. Getting closer to retirement. He was looking for a small house to buy, instead of Camping each summer with friends up on Red Mountain. The low priced houses were over priced so he took a look at this house in 2013 and put in an offer. Over 2 years later the deal was done and He has this wonderful House and Property. Michael is a Dance Instructor who has been with the University Of Calgary Ballroom Dance Club for over 15 years. He instructs in American Style Ballroom, Country, Swing, and Salon Style Argentine Tango. He has been a co-organizer with the “Slocan Lake Dance Camp” held in New Denver since it’s start.

Silverton started about 1890 as a mining town. At that time the valley and Slocan Lake were full of activity supporting that industry. After the fall of mining, the town became almost a ghost town. Now the town has a population of around 300. It is a quiet town that swells during the summer has summer house owners return for the beautiful summers. When you walk down the street, everyone still says "hi"
