I did an 18-day solo bike ride down the Rhine and this was the first hotel before the start of the trip. For a cyclist it's a great location because you can take the train to the start of the ride without a steep climb - it's all downhill from here. The hotel definitely has the feel of an outpost accommodation and the ambience is captivating. When I arrived the hotel was in mist, barely visible from the train station. It was exciting! My room was a bit minimal and the dinner that night a little spartan but adequate - that's what you should expect at an isolated spot. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and bike storage facilities perfectly adequate. I'd definitely stay here again if I came back.
