Salu jahimaja asub keset Valgamaa metsi, mis tagab külastajatele mõnusa privaatse olemise Lõuna-Eestis. Koht on hea väiksemate firmaürituse korraldamiseks. Samuti on jahimaja ideaalne väiksemateks pidudeks ning koosviibimisteks või lihtsalt koht, kus aktiivselt puhata. Jahimajas on WiFi võrk ja TV vaatamise võimalus. Lisatasu eest saab käia nii suitsusaunas kui ka kümblustünnis, millel on LED-valgustus ja mullisüsteem. Grillimise ja lõkke tegemise võimalus on samuti olemas. Jahimaja ümbritsevad metsad, mis on head seente ja marjade korjamiseks. Jalutuskäigu kaugusel on RMK matkarajad. Matkaradadel saab liikuda nii jalgsi kui rattaga. Matkaraja ääres on mõnus järv, kus saab ujumas käia. Jahimaja hoovil asub ka elumaja, kuid nii jahimaja kui elumaja on piisava privaatsusega ja üks ei sega teist.
Salu jahimajast mitte väga kaugel, kõigest 9 km kaugusel asub Barclay de Tolli mausoleum. Lähedal on Käre Lahinguväljad. Oma kauni looduse ja rikkaliku ajalooga pakub see silmailu ja ajaviidet nii suurtele kui ka väikestele. Tartu-Valga maantee äärde jääb Nuudaläte ohvriallikas, mis on Salu jahimajast 11 km kaugusel. Jahimajast 17 km kaugusele jäävad vandad Helme koopad. Lähim linn on Tõrva, mis on 13 km kaugusel. Tõrvas on hea võimalus ujuda, hüppetornist (Eesti kõrgeim hüppetorn – ca 11 m) vette hüpata ja päikest võtta. Järves on puhas selge vesi. Huvi korral saab discgolfi mängida. Tõrvas asuva Vanamõisa järve ääres on vesijalgrataste laenutus. Kaugele ei jää Kuutsemäe, mis on kõigest 17 km kaugusel. Talvel on hea käia suusatamas ja mäelauda sõitmas. Otepää on linn, kus saab käia SPAs ja golfisõpradel on hea võimalus käia Otepää golfiklubis. Otepää jääb ca 20 km kaugusele Salu jahimajast. Talvel on Otepääl palju võimalusi talvemõnude nautimiseks. Kuna Lõuna-Eesti on teada tuntud kauni looduse ja oma kuplite poolest, siis on Salu jahimajas ööbides võimalus minna natuke kaugemale Võrumaa kuppelmaastiku külastama. Rõuge on ca 70 km kaugusel. Rõuges on Pesapuu vaatetorn.
