Painswick is just the place to go when you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Available for short and long term stays. Great for a small family looking to escape reality. The cottage nestles in the charming village of Painswick which has been described as the "Queen of the Cotswolds". The building itself is a former weavers cottage and dates back to 1738 and has the distinctive south-facing attic workshop window. The cottage's name is derived from a tool- a teasel cross- used to card wool (aligning the fibres and removing snags) before spinning. There are plenty of pubs, hotels and restaurants in and around Painswick offering good foot. We suggest you try The Falcon on the main street opposite the church, The Royal Oak up the hill towards the church, The Butchers Arms in Sheepscombe or The Woolpack in Slad all of which are gastropubs. Or for more of a gourmet experience, there is the Painswick Hotel.
