At Elmer Sands as the tide goes out, the beach expands into flat compact sand and you get some interesting rock islands which form part of the local sea defence, perfect for searching for crabs and shells. It is an excellent family beach for all ages and well suited for beach games and rock pools, and at low tide the water is very shallow making ideal conditions for swimming and beginners water sports...
