A village of industrial heritage, Pontsticill is closely associated with the Brecon Mountain Railway, a tourist steam locomotive which operates as an attraction to visitors along the former Brecon and Merthyr Railway line, and Taf Fechan reservoir, constructed to serve the growing industry and population of the South Wales valleys in the 1920s. Pontsticill also boasts two bustling, dog friendly pubs, situated minutes from the cottage, popular year-round with locals and visitors alike.
